Romance, elegance and minimalism combine in this gorgeous calligraphic invitation suite, brought to us by Los Angeles based stationery designer KidGolightly Calligraphy! Here’s more from KidGolightly:
What inspired this stationery design is a particular scene from Breakfast At Tiffany’s – it was the telegram she received (although the news was a bit sad). So, I wanted to create a design that almost resembles a 1950s telegram. Taking that inspiration and putting a modern twist to it, making it a bit more minimalist in structure and assuring its simplicity to stand the test of time.

In a way the layout for this suite is very traditional and I want the focus to be on the couple’s names in my signature gossamer like calligraphy style (I fondly named Sylph) in lithe movement for that elegant and delicate feel. Just like any wedding should be, all eyes should be on the Bride & Groom.
To complete the design, I incorporated box borders and straight lines to achieve that telegram-y effect as well as using a serif font to still have that sophisticated look. Being particular to details that I am, I was intentional in cutting the handmade paper in such a manner; it is straight on one side while the other retained the natural deckled edges.
I wanted the finishing touches for this suite to be bold. To have that quick punch, that will make anyone be infatuated with it, hence the name. So I wrapped up in Vellum and sealed it with a red wax seal with a deer crest. This is perfect for the brides and grooms that are minimalist yet passionate.
