Hello Lovelies! Today we’re joined by fellow wedding blogger Eleni Balkouli of Love4Wed! Enjoy:

How did you get into wedding blogging?

I have always been in love in anything and everything that was associated with weddings. I could literally spend hours looking at wedding dresses, talking about wedding decoration details and amazing new wedding ideas I discovered on pinterest… not to mention I am always the one the cries at weddings! I guess in it was only natural for me that someday I would make my way into the wedding world. It was just meant to be… After my graduate studies in the US and years of working in the hotel management industry, when I returned to Greece I quickly realized that there was not really a “place” online for Greek brides to find inspiration, true stylish inspiration. I was accustomed to the gorgeous weddings blogs that were so popular at that time in the US and I found a huge gap in Greece. I decided to create a beautiful space that would feature all the prettiness and all the gorgeous work of the amazingly talented wedding professionals in Greece. The Greek wedding blog Love4Weddings gained the acceptance of Greek-brides-to-be and professionals immediately and in a short period of time I realized  that we needed to share all the wonderfulness that was created in Greece, all the gorgeous weddings on the Greek islands with the rest of the world… and that was the beginning of Love4Wed. A chic & stylish destination wedding blog that I am truly passionate about. I must say, even though running a wedding blog is a tough job (perhaps the most demanding job I have ever had!), when I am writing about how the groom proposed to the bride, or when I watch romantic wedding videos I am planning to feature or even when I am going through endless gorgeous wedding photos… I am in heaven and it is the best job in the world!

Meet Grace Ormonde, Editor in Chief of Wedding Style Magazine

Today we’re doing something a little different and getting to know Grace Ormonde, Editor in Chief of Wedding Style Magazine! Enjoy:

How did you get involved in the wedding industry?

I started out as a manager in three small engraving boutiques where I used to sell high-end jewelry to brides. During that time, there was a customer that asked me to help plan her wedding. While working with this bride I realized that there wasn’t a single, comprehensive resource for affluent brides to assist in their planning process. From then on I was on a mission to find all the right people to help this bride’s vision come to life.

How did you get into wedding blogging?

I always thought I’d be a wedding planner. Loved dressing up Barbie dolls in wedding dresses and “organizing” a wedding with Ken (sometimes Action Man!), but somehow, my life took me on different path. Although I wasn’t in the wedding industry, I spent too much time on a daily basis looking at wedding pics and Pinterest! So I started writing. Since I didn’t have a blog of my own, I contacted wedding bloggers and asked them if I could write something for their blog and be a regular contributor. They really liked my articles so I decided one day that I should buy my own domain and start writing my own blog.

How did you get into blogging?

I was between jobs and looking for something to do until I found the perfect new position. I am the kind of person that always has to be doing something, so I decided to start a blog! I really didn’t think of promoting it or that it had any potential to become a full-time career for me, but it was really just for fun! And then in the first couple of months of writing about what I knew best, weddings, I began to gain a following without even trying and fell in love with blogging! So I then decided to stop my job search and make this my full-time career!

Get to Know a Wedding Blogger: Kristen Ley

Hello lovelies! You may have noticed a few new regular features on the blog lately. Yeah, we like to keep things fresh ;) Here’s another new feature that we hope you’ll love: Wedding Blogger interviews. Kristen Ley of Something New for I Do is here with us to kick things off. Enjoy!

How did you get into wedding blogging?

Like many realize when in college (at that point where it’s too late to turn back!) I couldn’t see myself happily working in my field. I decided right then and there to start a business that tied in to what I was learning in public relations, but focused more on my passion for the wedding industry.

With support from my entrepreneurial parents, knowledge from my numerous internships, and a reckless failure is not an option attitude, I started Something New for I Do and began by posting blogs on my website. Shortly after, I was called to guest blog on other wedding professionals’ websites and eventually landed regular contributorship opportunities with outlets such as Huffington Post Weddings and Perfect Wedding Guide.

How did you get into wedding blogging?

I was at University at the time, so to make a bit of extra cash I started making eco-friendly wedding stationery. Around the same time, Jess was making her first steps into the world of wedding photography. Jess told me that she would like to start a blog to showcase her photography, and I thought it sounded like a good place to show my products too, so that is really where the journey began.
