Krista and Chris are planning a wedding with a beer theme next year, so they thought save the date coasters would be the perfect clue to what guests can expect at their celebration! The bride-to-be came to me with some pretty fabulous inspiration pieces featuring hand-drawn illustrations inspired by nature. She also knew she wanted to avoid a super-fancy wedding script, opting instead for more modern typography.

This lovely, sparkly wedding invitation collection comes to us from Gabriella of Kiwi Invitations, based in Signal Hill, CA! Here’s Gabriella to tell us more:

I love creating wedding stationary to match the invitations. Every week we work last minute to prepare placecards, party favor tags, menus and programs to decorate the reception hall. I also email the bride their monogram that we created for the DJ to use for the dance floor to light up and the photo booth as well. My favorite texture is the glitter! I use it mostly in golds, silver, black, white and red. It adds a beautiful touch to the stationary.

When you’re a wedding stationery designer, there’s one thing you learn pretty quickly: People love flowers! Wedding designs with floral themes are some of my best sellers. However in recent months I’ve noticed that along side with the perreniall (ha!) desire for flowers, there’s also a trend towards conservative, classic black and white wedding stationery. This trend is what inspired me to design this understated, classically elegant black and white wedding stationery suite called ‘Black Stripe.

Coasters are as popular as ever! The first set is a save the date. Adrienne wanted the design to reflect her fairly formal wedding. I created a design that employed traditional typefaces and a fancy, yet very legible, script. She also wanted to feature the crest of her future family quite prominently, so I created a vector illustration from the image of the crest she provided.
