6-8 Wedding Lovely 0

Today’s wedding vendor interview is with jewelry designer  Kyle Walling, founder of Northern Royal, based in Ann Arbor, Michigan! Enjoy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

Northern Royal all started because of a crazy love story. That love story would be my wife and I. I met my beautiful wife in Ontario, Canada and I was originally from southern Michigan. Our first summer together we practically spent every hot sunny day at the beach and ended our summer nights parked under the moonlight sky down some back country road in Canada. During the most magical summer, we also started an Etsy Store in which we really enjoyed. Once we got married we decided to close our Etsy store and create our own website which is now called Northern Royal.

Meet a Wedding Vendor in Charlevoix, MI: Serradella (7)

Meet a Wedding Vendor in Charlevoix, MI: Serradella (6)

Today’s wedding vendor interview is with Kelly Newell of Serradella, Northern Michigan’s premiere source for styling and vintage inspired rentals! Enjoy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

I’ve had a love of history and all things vintage my whole life. I vividly remember asking my parents to tell me about the “olden days” each night at bedtime and have always been drawn to things that speak of the past. My company was born out of a desire to indulge that passion. I’ve collected things as long as I can remember and, in recent years, also discovered a natural talent for styling and staging. A vintage rental company serving the wedding industry provides the perfect place for the two to intersect.

Meet a Wedding Vendor in Boulder, CO: ForTheMaids (5)

Today’s wedding vendor interview is with jewelery designer Auri Penner of ForTheMaids, based in Boulder, Colorado! Enjoy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

Hello! My name is Auri and my husband Andrew and I opened our For The Maids jewelry shop about 3 years ago. We were just graduating from college when we decided that we wanted to start our own business. I had just recently taken up jewelry-making as a hobby — learning from YouTube tutorials and experimenting with craft store beads. I had another jewelry shop called Powder & Jade (which is still alive and kicking!) and I noticed I got several requests for bridesmaid jewelry. Around the same time, one of my friends from high school asked if I could make some earrings for her bridesmaids for her upcoming wedding. Needless to say, we recognized the need for customizable bridesmaid jewelry that could be given as a gift and so For the Maids was born!

Frida

This diverse collection of elegant and on-trend wedding websites comes to us from Riley & Grey. Such beautiful work! Here’s Marissa, founder of Riley & Grey, to tell us more:

I think what we’re most excited about with the new collection is that we captured some really popular and traditional wedding themes, but in a new way. For example, we get tons of requests for vineyard themes. That’s a tricky one, because there are only so many ways you can draw a wine bottle and grapes.

I like the gourmet still-life approach we took because it’s also something you can’t really do on paper, so it’s perfect for your website. And it really brings in the foodie element that most vineyard weddings have too. Another example is the bohemian theme. I’m really proud of the way our team managed to take something like tie dye, which can get really cheese-y, really fast and elevate it so that it could even work for a black-tie boho wedding. Beach is another theme where the umbrella and sand toy imagery that comes to mind first isn’t really what people want for their wedding. I think the subtle waves in our Surf design get people excited for a beach destination without overwhelming the wedding’s brand.
