Meet a Wedding Photographer in New York, NY: Parenthesis Photography (3)

parenthesisphotography.com New England Documentary Wedding Photography

Today’s wedding photographer interview is with Kathleen of Parenthesis Photography, based in New York, NY! Enjoy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

I create wedding photography for couples who don’t want the typical light and bright images, but instead something a little more raw, adventurous, and cinematic. I studied film, art and art history in college and my photography is very influenced by those things. My main goals are to capture my couples’ weddings in the most unobtrusive way possible, and to be there for them throughout the process to make things less stressful. I love educating people about photography, why lighting is important and how we can easily incorporate things into the day that will help me create the best images possible for them. In my free time I shoot a lot of portraits and landscapes.

Meet a Wedding Photographer in Paris, France: Dagmara Bojenko Photographe (2)

_mg_4628

Today’s wedding photographer interview is with Dagmara  of Dagmara Bojenko Photographe, based in Paris, France! Enjoy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

I am a Polish Canadian Photographer based in Paris, France, since 2012. Growing up in a multicultural environment allowed me to quickly learn and adapt to new surroundings, as well as be able to read people’s expressions before even understanding their language. To this day, connecting to people in that way drives me in my work and knowing that I can lay their emotions onto a photo is the ultimate gift. I love working with people from different backgrounds and discovering their wedding traditions as well as their unique perspectives on life and love. I approach every photoshoot with a desire to create a connection between myself and my subject, which goes beyond the image itself. Photography is an experience, not just a final product. I realize how intimate it is to point your camera at someone and ask them to be themselves, so I strive to leave something of myself in my interaction with my subjects. I compare my photography to a couple’s dance, where both parties need to open up, trust and share of themselves in order to create beauty.

I am a less than a month away from twenty five and from a small town in Southwest Michigan.  I love the beach, breakfast, and my german shepard. When I am not taking portraits, I am teaching yoga to my lovely little community in Saint Joseph, Michigan. Photography has been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember, and that interest has really began to feel like a career for me. Over the last few years, the people in front of my camera became clients and not just models. My ideas now become reality through my camera lens and within that my photographs show my true style and artistic vision. I truly feel like my company is becoming something more and that I have so very much room to grow.
