Today’s real engagement comes to us from Rhonda Giedt Photography, based in Belmont,California! Here’s what Rhonda has to say about the shoot:
Jessica and Travis started dating a couple of years ago after meeting through mutual friends. Their friends and family members soon realized that they were the perfect match for each other. Their families spent every Summer at the same lake, even though they didn’t know it until they started dating, and is the place that both Jessica and Travis love to spend their spare time.
Today’s real engagement shoot comes to us from Michel Berda of King Street Photo Weddings and we’re so glad he did. The photos are edgy and romantic and the story behind them is so sweet. Here’s what Paul has to say about the shoot:
Melissa and I met, believe it or not, on Match.com. We were both coming off of divorces and were tired of the bar scene. Our interests were the same… kids, tattoos, work, cooking and guns.
A quiet beach picnic and saying “yes” to your best friend for life is just about perfect, don’t you think? Mary and Jon couldn’t be happier and Anne Victoria Photography captured their day beautifully. Enjoy!
Today we’re bringing you an engagement photo shoot photographed by Family Creative Photography. I just love the styling of this shoot, both edgy and sweet. Enjoy!
Most of the time, if you’re going to have a photo shoot done, it’s because some big event in your life has happened…. Like, there is a new rock on her finger, and the wedding date is scheduled.
But sometimes a couple has been together for awhile, and committed to each, but there just isn’t a actual ‘rock’ in the picture yet – pun intended!
Adamm & Nicole are one of those creative couples that are involved in everything! Adamm’s a musician, playing guitar and singing in a ’604 Records’ band called Fighting for Ithaca. As well as working with graphic design. Nicole is former project manager at ’604 Record’ and is now a creative/artistic director working in the film and tv industry, as well as a writer, blogger, social media expert, multi-medium artist, and is heavily involved in the local arts and music community in Vancouver.
As a couple, they’re a little bit punk rock, a little edgy, but still in love none-the-less. So without further ado…
Today we’re bringing you this gorgeous engagement shoot, shot by Kim+Phil Photography in San Francisco! I just had an opportunity to go out to coffee with Kim and Phil and they are truly wonderful and friendly people. Not to mention their beautiful photography, as you can see!
Talented photographer Carly of Carly Hack Photography sent this gorgeous set over — Baylee and Martin’s beach engagement photos, shot at Henley Beach Jetty in South Australia. They’re actually getting married tomorrow — our best wishes for a wonderful day go out to them!
See the rest of the gorgeous photos after the cut…
Jenna & Tim didn’t want the straight forward engagement shoot, so instead decided to get hold of some over-sized animal heads. As you might know, I prefer things to be a little off-kilter so jumped at the chance to photograph it for them.
We took in some of the often used sights around Melbourne for engagement and wedding photography, but with the heads, they seem to take on a different, almost surreal feel!
Their cute little Pug came along for some of the shots too. What a smart little fella he looked in that jacket!
It’s been nearly 4 months since Luis and I got engaged.
The time has really flown by, and since Luis was teaching this summer and preparing to finish his dissertation and I have been so heads down building awesome features for WeddingLovely, I have to admit (somewhat embarrassingly) that we haven’t done much wedding planning.
We have decided two things: it will be next summer, 2013, and it will be in California. Details: TBD.
Luis and I were so excited when all the photos from Josh came in the mail! He printed all of them for us so could see how they looked in real life, instead of just on the computer.
However, our lack of planning is slowly contributing to more family inquisitiveness. My parents have started sending me wedding invitations that they have received, and they have written out what they like and/or don’t like about them. My sister text-messaged me last week to ask if I was changing my name (I’m not).
The engagement shoot briefly satisfied my parents that we were making progress, and Luis was happy that his parents could finally have a better photo to put up in their home on the wall with the rest of the family (the previous photo they hung up after we announced we were engaged we were both wearing Pajamas and Luis had horrible bed head and looked like Egon from Ghostbusters.)
One of my favorites from the engagement photo shoot. Luis hair looks fabulous and under control :)
But, alas, another month went by with no progress and I recently got a rude awakening that we need to start seriously planning. This happened when: (1) My hairdresser reminded me that her availability for next summer is quickly filling up, and (2) a close friend who got engaged after me already has her venue booked and her save-the-date cards in the mail! Then, (3) a cousin of mine who also lives in California got engaged and my parents emailed me asking us to coordinate so that we wouldn’t get married on the same weekend.
This all made me realize that if we don’t get this process rolling, then all the venues and dates might be gone, and I’ll be coordinating with more and more people in my family as more cousins get engaged (I have many, many cousins).
So, of course, I’ve been using WeddingLovely and our first task was to determine our wedding style. I used the quick links to sort out where we fit in. We’re definitely a “casual” pair but we’ll see if we slowly creep into formal…(casual is more “budget friendly” than formal). I would also describe us as wanting a “Garden Style” wedding. Next up we will start tackling the budget. Speaking of which, have you seen the sample budget breakdown in WeddingLovely? It’s fabulous and very useful! Once we’re done with that we’ll get a venue booked…(baby steps, baby steps).
We’ve decided to spend a few hours every weekend on wedding planning, so I promise more exciting details to come!
