Welcome to part two in our series — the paper + the event, showcasing the invitation designs and how they tied into the wedding by I’ll Know It When I See It, a design studio based in Vancouver, BC! Enjoy:
Iceland holds a special place in my heart. After University, I took a 7 month backpacking trip and Iceland was my first stop. I didn’t really know anything about this amazing country other than it was where the ribbon bookmark of my Lonely Planet Europe guidebook happened to be.
Without a doubt it is one of the world’s most naturally beautiful countries. Black sand beaches, geysers, waterfalls, steaming lagoons, volcanoes, northern lights. You name it – Iceland probably has it. If it’s not on your list of places to visit, add it now. Check out these great photos from National Geographic.
So when Lloyd + Raggi need help designing wedding invites for their upcoming nuptials I was so excited to hear that it would be happening in Iceland! The plan was for the wedding ceremony to be on a ferry en route to Viðey followed by the reception on the island. Like pied pipers, Lloyd + Raggi led the party up to the venue with balloons.
Today we have the honor of showcasing the beautiful Greek wedding of Lea and John in New York City! Loving the energy in the photos (courtesy of Farnaz K Studio) — check out the amazing reception photos at the end!

Weddings are incredibly personal events and we love it when couples incorporate aspects unique to themselves and their culture into the day. This was the case for Alison + Masa.
Alison + Masa wanted to include elements that reflected Masa’s Japanese heritage without being cheesy. We wanted a design that balanced the cultural aspects and the feel of the wedding venue but also fun and modern.
Another gorgeous real wedding sent over by Invitations by Ajalon, who did their invitations! Meet Haley and Trevor, who got married at Bald Head Island in North Carolina. The light in these photos is just so pretty! We also got a great interview with the couple about their big day — enjoy!
Can you share with us a bit about your wedding and your inspiration for your celebration?
Our wedding was June 10th, 2012 on Bald Head Island. The ceremony took place outside under a live oak tree on the grassy lawn of “Old Baldy”, the island’s lighthouse. Our goal of the wedding was to integrate the relaxed beach feel with a touch of class (orchids, tuxedos, etc.). We also wanted to make sure everyone had fun, which I think we accomplished with our Jenga guest book, photo booth and DJ!
