I absolutely love this wedding. Not only because it includes BUNNIES, but because they do such a fantastic job mixing the bride’s Jewish upbringing with the groom’s Mexican heritage. Because really, now many wedding have you been to that have a mariachi band play Hava Negila? Thank you to Sonrisa Weddings for sharing it with us! Here’s how the photographer described the wedding to us:

Bunnies and butterflies set the tone for Debbie and Sergio’s day, a blend of pink and chocolate and of cultures and religions. Debbie, an artist, made bunny table cards from her os-so-cute drawings of exotic rabbit breeds — Debbie loves bunnies, she has several and participates in a bay area rabbit rescue. Her Jewish upbringing was juxtaposed with Sergio’s Mexican heritage in the ceremony and in the Mariachi’s rousing rendition of Hava Negila. On a budget, this was an all hands on deck production. Debbie and her brides maids were busy for months folding paper to make the kusudamas (made out of multiple identical origami shapes glued together) that adorned aisle and tables. Both are graduates of UC Berkeley, Sergio just finished his doctorate in Biology and Debbie her BA in Art with a minor in Spanish.

Today’s featured wedding comes to us from Cassie of CFuertez Photography. There were so many great details in this DIY California ranch wedding, that it was hard to decide what photos to pick! Here’s what Cassie shared with us about this handcrafted celebration:

I wanted to share this wedding because of all the details Kelli incorporated. Kelli pretty much did everything herself in this wedding, minus the flowers. She designed her cake and the cake stand (she made it with her dad!), she made her invitations, her party favors and even wrote her menu using chalk pens. Kelli and Brian were a part of every detail. She created lanterns that flickered with tea lights inside. She custom made the husband and wife figures on her cake into Totoro-design characters from a Miyazaki film. There was so much thought and detail that went into this wedding that it just had to be shared!

I was thrilled to see this wedding submission from William Innes Photography in our inbox. I know this is our first Real Wedding for 2012, but I’m predicting that this might be one of my favorites for the year. This beautiful country wedding is packed with amazing florals, breathtaking scenery and a plethora of details! Live music and a fully functioning fruit stand were on site for guests to enjoy. What a fun wedding, I especially love the bridesmaid dresses!

Today’s bird themed wedding from 39 East Photography is so romantic and is filled with details– wait until you see the couple’s card holder! The couple held their ceremony under ancient oak trees at the The Beltane Ranch, a beautiful working ranch in Glen Allen California, and danced away the evening on an outdoor dance floor. What’s not to love about this wedding?

Today’s real wedding of Kristen & Michael makes me feel in love with love. The images from this happy couple’s wedding embody everything a wedding is about: friends, family, and a couple’s happiness and love. Photographer Larry Spencer writes:

Michael and Kristen were all about colors, details and fun. From their Tiffany wedding gifts, their special “Hello Kitty” champagne and Michael’s custom Converse All Stars, they put their own personal touches on their wedding day.

You know those weddings where you see photos and gasp out loud because they’re just that beautiful? Heather and Danny’s Atlantic Beach DIY extravaganza was one of those weddings. Photographer Michelle Oeil wrote:

Heather and Danny are a FUN couple, Danny is a drummer in a band and the moment Heather laid her eyes on him, she fell for him! The wedding was a vintage-glam inspired DIY, but at this beautiful luxurious hotel in Atlantic Beach FL. Heather looked like a movie starlette from the 40s.

Today’s featured engagement shoot is actually a post-wedding trash the dress shoot, a fun way of getting one last use out of that expensive dress! Laura from GRITZ Photography gives us some of the details of the shoot, appropriately titled “Savage Menagerie”:

[The shoot was] held at a private residence in Magnolia Springs, AL. The model posed with two exotic cats: a carracal and a cougar cub. The dress is Jessica McClintock, the jewelry is Lucky Brand and the chair is a vintage piece. The cats were a handful and the dress was indeed slightly “trashed” afterwards, but it was a lot of fun!

Today’s real wedding comes to us from Virginia, where Natalie & Stuart had a whimsical outdoor wedding with diy decor featuring vintage elements and bright colors. Photographer Rebekah J. Murray describes their special day:

I can’t remember ever photographing a wedding with a more playful attention to detail. Stewart and Natalie were married at her parent’s beach house near Chincoteague, Virginia, in the smidge of a town called Assateague. (It consists of Front St., Back St., and Courthouse St. So cute!) Natalie had grown up visiting this house and it was only fitting to have her happiest day surrounded by her happiest memories. Their vision from the start was to have as much fun as possible and (besides the near-melting heat) it was a smashing success. The eclectic, handmade details and bright colors made it feel like a vibrant afternoon at a carnival fading into a nostalgic summer evening.
