Today we’re here with Bonnie B. for a walkthrough of the gorgeous venue Salisbury House And Gardens, located in Des Moines, Iowa. Enjoy!
Tell us a bit about your venue:
Salisbury House was built from 1923-1928 as the family home of cosmetic magnate, Carl Weeks. The home consists of Tudor stone work, Gothic arches and Carolean brickwork and was inspired by the King’s House in Salisbury, England. The stately interior offers exquisite architectural detail with intricate woodwork, leaded glass windows and 42 rooms filled with rare and historic collections. The majestic house is nestled atop picturesque gardens that are encased by serene woodlands, providing an intimate setting for indoor or outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
IJORERE Atelier is an elegant event space located in Elgin, IL. I just love all of the exotic details!
Opening IJORERE Atelier seemed like an inevitable path for me. For the past 15 years I’ve been in the design and construction industry. Architecture will always be my first love, so I knew, whatever I got my hands into, would ultimately involve creative designing. While working as an architect, I ran a couture stationery business called IJORERE The Invitation Inc.

I’m pretty stoked to share this venue with you all today! The 1812 Farm in Bristol, Maine holds a special place in my heart, as it’s where my husband and I tied the knot last September (some of the photos in the post are from our wedding). If you’re looking for a Maine venue that marries rustic appeal with elegance, this is definitely a contender! Now, onto the tour…
The 1812 Farm is the perfect setting for your wedding reception with its spectacularly restored 18th century barn
Getting married in the Cincinnati or Northern Kentucky area? If you answered “yes,” then get ready for a tour of The Center. I just love the lighting–this venue is definitely celebration ready!
The Center is a unique and customizable event venue in the heart of downtown Cincinnati. Located in the Mercantile Building, many may remember the location as the former Contemporary Arts Center space. This convenient location allows guests access to nearby hotels and parking.
With nearly 15,000 square feet of space, modern architectural features, and a great view of Fountain Square – there is truly nothing like it downtown! The expansive hardwood floors and neutral walls in the ballroom allow clients to arrange the space to fit their needs and create the atmosphere of their choice with the lighting and décor.
The reception area under the dome ceiling is a popular spot for a cocktail hour, but no two events at The Center are the same!
The Center is not a full service venue and does not have a preferred vendors list. This means that the space is yours for the duration of the event and you are welcome to work with the caterers, party planners, rental companies and entertainers of your choice – at no additional cost! Caterers are welcome to use the open kitchen and can easily access the main event areas.
There are also smaller side rooms around the venue that can be used for kids, photo booths, buffets, and more!
