Today’s dreamy real wedding comes to us from Blake Cissel of Foxtail Photography, based in Raleigh, North Carolina! Here’s Blake to tell us more:

Alex and Megan are college sweethearts as they met when they were both students at North Carolina State University. When it came time to choose their wedding venue there was no hesitation for them to pick a location only a few blocks away from their beloved alma mater. Like NCSU, The Stockroom at 230 is located in the heart of Downtown Raleigh and both are historical pieces that play a part in making up the character of their beloved city.

See more after the cut!

The Stockroom is a restored commercial building constructed in 1902 that has been converted into a unique Downtown wedding venue. The floor to ceiling brick walls, hardwood floors, and lattice ceilings create an urban, chic, second floor venue that is in high demand. The large windows in The Stockroom allow ample lighting, as does The Glass Box which is an all glass bridal suite located on the 5th floor of the same building that where Megan and her bridesmaids relaxed and got ready before their big day.

Their venue set the stage for Alex and Megan’s big day and gave them a beautiful blank canvas to work with to make their own. Every wedding detail for these two had a purpose and meaning behind them. All of the florals, table decor, alter decoration, and signage were put together by Sherry, the bride’s father’s girl friend, who has been like another mother to Megan.

The couple included Krispy Kreme donuts as their dessert instead of the traditional cake because if you are from Raleigh or the south, there is nothing not to love about Krispy Kreme. An added bonus is that it is located just a few streets over from the venue.

Megan wore beautiful earrings that were her late mother’s, and laid a single rose on the seat she would have sat in during the ceremony to remember her mother and just how special she was to Megan and her family. All of the effort and meaningful details from her friends and family combined to make this day one to never forget for the happy couple!

Congratulations Megan & Alex and thank you, Blake, for sharing! For more information about  Foxtail Photography, please visit their WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile.
