Today’s featured wedding invitation design comes from Steel Petal Press! Love the blind embossing border, which gives the invitation such a beautiful texture. Shayna says:
The Arabesque set was originally designed for Agnes and Jaime, two students at University of Chicago. They were getting married in a venue on the campus and wanted a navy color that was classy without looking collegiate.

The whole set included a letterpress printed invitation, rehearsal dinner card and a reply post card.
The pieces were all printed in a deep navy, and the invitation itself also had a “blind emboss” element (printing without ink) to create the lovely and subtle textured border.
They came to me with ideas of what they liked and I was able to create a set using 3 different borders that matched but were not exactly the same.
I custom created the border on the reply card to match a stained glass window at their venue which added a meaningful element specific to them and their special day.
