Colorful and Whimsical Southern California Wedding (10)

This colorful and whimsical SoCal wedding comes to us from Alex of Greenvelope, purveyor of elegant electronic invitations. Here’s more about the wedding from Gina, the lovely bride:

We got engaged and married in 2014 which also happened to be a tumultuous year for both of our families with the losses of loved ones. So our focus for the wedding was honoring our family and thanking all of our friends for their continued support and love throughout our journey. As part of our decoration, we laid out beautiful black and white photos of all of our aunts, uncles and grandparents on their wedding day! It was fun for us and our family members to dig out those old photos, reminisce and see how wedding fashion has changed over the years.

See more after the cut!

Apparently white tuxedos were the hot thing during our parents’ generation! Our rehearsal dinner was a lot of fun too since we incorporated both the Korean and Chinese tea ceremonies. It was meaningful for both our families to make our cultural tradition a part of our wedding weekend. Of course we had to end the night on a high note which only means one thing: drag queen bingo! Yes we had a beautiful drag queen host a few rounds of bingo and a few left with prizes, the lucky ones with some spanking, and all with smiles.

The showstopper was very obviously our donut bar. We both love donuts so there was no doubt in our minds that we were going to serve donuts to our guests. We just didn’t realize that everyone else loved donuts as much as we did. Even to this day when people talk about our wedding, the first thing that comes up is the donut bar. We ordered a wide variety of customized donuts from California Donuts which ranged from panda donuts to gold dust donuts and I’ll admit they looked and tasted amazing!
