Today’s interview comes to us from Erin Grace Events. Erin is the President of The Event Planners Association in Southern California and we are so proud to have her as one of our vendors!  Thank you for sharing with us where you found your inspiration Grace.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

Erin Grace Events was established over 8 years ago with a desire to plan fabulous events. We are a full service wedding & event production firm in that we design, plan and execute all of our events with inspiration gained in everyday life. We love producing everything from small intimate events to large lavish weddings!

2. How did you get into wedding planning?

It started with a love of hosting parties; there is not one holiday that I don’t plan a party for! In addition to my love of parties, years ago  I worked for a non-profit as a program coordinator. This was such an ideal job for me as  it allowed me to grow in the events world and most importantly, I loved it! I also started offering to design and plan events for friends and relatives. I love what I do and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.


3. What’s your favorite part of the job? 

This is really simple. I love working with happy couples. Their energy makes all my running around worth while. And the end result is always fabulous! 

4. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started?

Invest in your business! I learned that I needed to work with others and that becoming successful wasn’t only about my business but building relationships with other event professionals. Believe it or not, 50% of my business comes from these other professionals.


5. What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities? 

I love to spend time with my children and husband. My husband and I love to support them in their sporting activities. I would say this is my life’s highlight! 

6. Any great stories from working with a client? 

There are so many wonderful stories… I just can’t choose one!


7. What is your current favorite color combination? 

I love the neutral tones right now. They are subtle and work well for various wedding themes. Currently we are planning a rustic wedding and the neutrals are just amazing when having a rustic or outdoor wedding. 


8. Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?

 I’m loving the brooch bouquets right now. They are timeless and look absolutely stunning. We recently featured them on a segment on San Antonio Living in Texas. You can find the link here.
