Today’s wedding planner interview is all the way from Italy — meet Daniela of Madreperla Wedding & Event Planning! Enjoy:
Tell us a bit about your company?
My name is Daniela, I’m Italian and I’m the owner of Madreperla Wedding & Event Planning.
My job of wedding planning consulting consists in organizing a perfect and unforgettable wedding day starting from a budget of expense and arriving to the realization of the ever dreamed event.
I take the weight off the brides and grooms by helping them with all the choices and decisions that precede and accompany their marriage: from the organization of the ceremony to the choice of reception site, decorations, car, photo, favors and more.
My aim is always to be sure not to impose my style to the clients but to understand and realize their wishes, I guide the brides to the professionals that fit better for them and on the wedding day and I oversee all to be sure that everything goes how we have planned.
I work all over Italy with Italian and foreigner couples , from Milan to Rome, in Tuscany and South Italy, even if my favorite place for organizing weddings is the beautiful Venice.
I can easily say that mine, in my opinion, is the most beautiful job in the world because it gives daily to me lots of opportunities to know and to work with amazing people, couples and partners. You never get annoyed!
How did you get into wedding planning?
I’m such an organized person! I like organize everything in my life, my vacations, my house, my spare time…and I like to meet new people, always discover new places and situations, I like beautiful things and I like fairy tales…when I mixed all this, I realized that the wedding and event planner is the only job I could ever do.
I started it as a passion, but with the time I developed and turned this experience in a job, then I graduated at LWPI of California in order to be certificated and now I could not live without all this.
What is your favorite part of the job?
Since, as I told, I like and believe in fairy tales, my favorite part of my job is the ceremony, when promises are pronounced and most of the times the brides and grooms cry.
Very touching is when the groom cry ….always I start crying as well.
When at the end of the big day I receive the compliments and the thank you from parents and from the bride and groom …then I remember the reason why I love all this.
What’s the biggest lesson you have learned?
I think that the biggest lesson to learn is that I have never learned enough.
I always feel as if I have started now and I am never tired to try new experiences and adventures.
I think that you can learn this job only with the practice , but each wedding is different from another and each time you will have different problems to face and many and different joys to be happy.
What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?
When I’m not immersed in organizing, I like to spend more time with my lovely dog Whisky, go to the gym and read a good book , I like so much staying at home and simply relax when it’s possible watching my favorites shows.
Any great stories from working with a client?
So many stories …all of them are different and particular.
But what I really like to remember is when after having make thousend of phone calls and emails , having sent tons of pictures and after having planned, organized and realized and sometimes also cried together, the bride becomes a friend of mine , someone that I feel I have ever known.
This is the beautiful experience that is happening to me with the wedding that I’m planning now.
What is your current favorite color combination?
My favorite color is fushia. I ‘m a fun of it, but not always it can be appropriated for a wedding or for each kind of bride.
Mostly, I like to use and mix warmer colors such as ivory / white / cream / champagne and sometimes spots of gold.
I have also used black and white which is so elegant and chic!
Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
I like the idea that nowadays the bride and groom tend to personalize as much as possible their wedding, because they really feel that this day will be one of the most important in their lives and they want to celebrate it.
I’m absolutely loving that everything in weddings is coming back to simplicity with a touch of romanticism.
