Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

How did you get into wedding planning?

I entered the Wedding World by accepting an Internship offer with Ashley, the owner of SEBC. We offer 3 month unpaid internships which immerse those in our program with insider knowledge, networking opportunities, planning/logistics experience & hands-on time during Wedding Days. Following my internship, I joined the team as a Lead Planner and later went on to form the Director position.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

My favorite part of the Wedding Planning process is going through Timeline Meetings with my couples. We meet two times and go through the entire day with a fine-tooth comb. We typically find 3-5 errors or loose-ends during this process when there is still time to fix them! I love going through every detail to make sure there is nothing that will bring stress to my Brides & Grooms on their Big Day. My goal is to cover everything with them beforehand, so I can focus on executing the day flawlessly without them worrying about a thing.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started?

One of the first things I learned when I entered the wedding industry is there is a stereotype of Wedding Planners being bossy & controlling of the Wedding Day. I decided immediately that I would make it my personal mission to change that belief! I feel I have been so successful in this industry because I am a team player. I love coordinating the various vendors, making everyone’s day easier & have fun while doing it. Weddings are supposed to be a celebration! Let’s work together to make this day perfect!

What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?

When I do not have my wedding hat on, you can find me working on projects in my new house with my new husband! We both truly value our families, so we spend a lot of time with our parents & siblings. I also love a great craft beer & searching through Antique/Junk stores.

Any great stories from working with a client?

I had an unforgettable Wedding Planning experience in May 2012. I had a Bride call me who had just got off the phone with her Fiance who was stationed in Korea with the Marines. He found out he would be coming home for a short leave in seven weeks & he wanted to get married while he was home. Within a couple hours, we were sitting down in person, breaking down a week-by-week timeline and planning a full-scale wedding ceremony & reception. The seven weeks flew by and we NAILED IT. The day went smoothly & I was able to give them the best Wedding Gift of all… the ability to take it in and enjoy their short amount of time together while I took care of the details.

What is your current favorite color combination?

I can’t get enough of the lovely neutral color combinations I have been seeing. I believe in picking a beautiful venue & letting your floral & decor accentuate, not compete with the space. I love a cream/white/gold combo with little pops of light pink.

Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?

I am absolutely LOVING the growing trend of non-white Wedding gowns. Grey, Gold, Black, Light Pink… I’m a big fan of any girl who will rock some color on her Big Day!
