Today’s wedding vendor interview is with Danielle of ArtWorx Events, a business specializing in pre-wedding paint and sip parties! Enjoy:

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

ArtWorx Events was founded in October of 2013. I heard about the “paint and sip” concept years before that and was intrigued because it combined all of my schooling and prior work experience. I have a BA in Marketing, MA in Art Education, Gemologist degree, & Art Teacher and Principal certifications. This business combined everything I love and allowed me to have a business where I could hold art parties where people can get creative and enjoy themselves for any type of occasion. I teach guests step-by-step how to create a masterpiece from scratch on canvas, glass, or anything else. Guests can choose to have cocktails, wine and snacks while they have fun painting!

How did you get into the business?

I wanted to start my own business and be my own boss. I wanted to be able to have flexible hours so that I can work around my children and be around for them. For the most part my husband and I trade off so that one of us is around the great majority of the time. I loved the idea of creating beauty with others and showing people that they really can create their own art that hey can be proud of.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

My favorite part is seeing the pride people feel when they create art that they are proud of. I also love seeing how uniquely different all the creations are, while still being similar.

If you could pick one unique product or service offering, which would be your favorite, and why?

I love working with guests to create unique celebrations for special occasions, especially bridal showers, engagement parties and bachelorette parties.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to others just getting started in your field?

The biggest lesson I learned was to learn from my mistakes!

What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?

I love to travel, dine out, work out and spend time with friends and family.

Any great stories from working with a client?

I have received notes for making guests’ birthdays and special occasions amazing.

What makes you different from others in your field?

I put my all into everything I do. I founded, own, and teach the events. Many of the other paint and sip businesses are not necessarily owned and run by the artists. I am also uniquely qualified with a background in business, art and teaching.

Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?

I would love to help brides create their own beautifully unique wearable art or jewelry for their weddings.

What tips or advice can you give to couples who are in the midst of planning their big day?

You have to let some things roll off your back. Most aspects will go amazing but there may be some glitches. Decide what is most important and focus on those things. Most importantly HAVE FUN – it is hopefully a once in a lifetime experience.
