This beautiful Eastern Pennsylvania real wedding comes to us from wedding photographer Stacey Cecere of Simply Couture Photography based in Pittsburgh, PA. Here’s what Tania, the sweet bride, has to say about the big day:
We were fully committed to our butterfly theme by making use of them in most of the details. I love how the butterfly long been a symbol of rebirth and transformation; it symbolizes new life as a Married Couple like mason jars and Birch-wood can combine with lace and pearls to create true elegance. We loved the look of all gold, ivory and white with touches of burgundy — clean, timeless and elegant!

In summary, we have known each other since high school. Eventually, we lost touch altogether until one evening, many years later, when we bumped into one another again at a nightclub. When we reconnected, we also rekindled our unmistakable bond and a new chapter in our story began. When Greg proposed, he knelt in front of me and presented a speech of our time together. He said to me, “The man I am with you is not the same man I am without you, and I want to be the man I am when I’m with you.” That’s when he asked me if I would be his wife. I immediately started to cry tears of joy. Of course, I said yes…it was the best day ever!!! While we have many friends and family spread around the world, we look forward to bring our very closest group of family and friends together for an intimate celebration, consisting of about 50 people.
Our wedding was held at (Doubletree by Hilton), a charming, warm and luxurious hotel with ambience, and style. We had the ceremony and reception in the Allegheny Ballroom. We had a traditional reception with a DJ (Blackwell Soundz) consisting of your typical first dance, speeches, and line dancing. Our florist (Carrie Anne Powell Floral Design) really did her thing with our wedding flowers — from the bouquets to the centerpieces, using a romantic combination of flowers and candles it kept an air of elegance and romance going throughout the evening.
The biggest challenge about wedding planning was finding a venue that the majority of our guests could stay on site, that also allowed us to host multiple events over a weekend. It was difficult at times to let go of the reigns and trust that everything would come together as God intended. Most of the planning was done via email with our wedding planner, Ashley, (AB Occasion Design) who was absolutely wonderful and attentive. I had a hard time finding someone to do my hair and makeup to my satisfaction, but I eventually found Julie Marckisotto (Pittsburgh Makeup), and my hair was done by a family member (Heavenly Hair & Body Salon), I waited a week before my wedding to do a hair trial. Thankfully, she was absolutely wonderful too!
As it was my turn to walk down the aisle, I was filled with love and ready to give it to the man I was about to be united with. I loved walking through the doors of the ballroom and locking eyes with my husband-to-be until I reached him at the altar. I never imagined he would get choked up, but he did, and so did I. It was one of my favorite memories and a moment I will never forget. Overall, Greg and I were so very pleased how our wedding turned out. Our special day was exactly the way we wanted it – intimate and low key. Our day was perfect and we were so happy to share it with our family and friends. My advice, try to remember what the true purpose is for the day–the union of you and your husband. Everything else fades in comparison to that.
Sigh. Loved our wedding… hope you enjoyed it too!!
