This gorgeous Icelandic proposal, complete with tear-jerker video, comes to us from Adam Mason of Mason Photography, based in Washington, DC!

During a trip to Iceland while I was shooting Instagram photos for a car rental company, the best thing happened – Sara and I got engaged! This was my third time to Iceland, but first time with Sara, so of course I had to show her all the beautiful landscapes (and capture the moments as well). We had four days, so with little time to spare, we landed, grabbed a rental car and drove the entire country in less than three days.

See more after the cut!

Once we arrived at my favorite waterfall, Skogafoss, we strolled around enjoying the scenery and recapping our trip so far. The weather had been pretty dreary that day – cold and rainy, basically traditionally Icelandic – but the weather thankfully (and luckily) started to clear up once we arrived.

I asked her to stand for a photo, set up my camera and had it start taking pictures of Sara where she was standing. I walked over to her, hugged her and let the camera take a couple pictures of us just soaking in the moment. I said, “I have something for you.” I got down on my knee, taking the ring box from my back pocket and asked her, “Will you marry me?”

She said yes! We cried, we hugged, we cried some more and vowed to cherish this moment forever. Enjoy these wet, tear-filled, epic background engagement photos and then watch the proposal video I made. It features me crying, awesome Iceland drone shots, and everything in the epic moment of asking Sara to marry me.
