Today’s awesome guest post comes to us from freelance writer and wedding enthusiast Stacey Smith! Enjoy:

Classic, rustic, boho, minimalist, industrial, alternative, and the list goes on and on. When it comes to wedding themes, picking out the most authentic, personal, and meaningful one from the plethora of options can seem almost impossible. Not only do you want to pick an overarching style, but you’ll need to look into colors, decorations, fonts, and all the little details to perfect your wedding theme.

We don’t want to make this seem like a daunting task though. In fact, picking out a wedding style can be a fun and inspiring exercise in creativity. You get to daydream, look at tons of eye candy, and work with vendors to create a celebration that is truly unique to you and your fiance. So where to start? Here are some things to consider when choosing a wedding theme.

Usually the beach and winter don’t go hand in hand when it comes to weddings, but we’re here to show you that a wonderful winter wedding is possible near the ocean! Norah and Matt dreamed of a snowy winter wedding, and amazingly, it started snowing at the conclusion of their reception! Even though the weather was chilly, this wedding was full of warm touches like the fur shawls for the bride and bridesmaids, soft lighting from chandeliers and lots of candlelight and nautical details reminiscent of the perfect Cape Cod wedding!

Today’s wedding DJ interview is with Jose De Leon, DJ and MC at LEM Entertainment, based in Union, NJ! Enjoy:

Tell us about yourself and how you started.

I started DJing at clubs and bars in the late 90s. After getting married and having kids, I left the club scene behind and focused more on private events. I honed in on wedding after doing 5 weddings 6 years ago. Those were the 5 hardest events but taught me a lot. It showed me an event where all sorts of emotions are on full display and people just want to have fun. After taking some training courses and linking up with a successful Wedding DJ, I started taking more and more weddings and it took me to where I’m at today.

Meet a Wedding Stationer in Winnipeg, MB: Empire Invites (4)

Today;s wedding stationer interview is with Jacquie Rudolf, Sales, Marketing & Design Extraordinaire at Empire Invites, based in Winnipeg, MB! Enjoy:

How did you get started doing wedding invitations?

My previous job was in the corporate world of Business Architecture. When my husband & I began family planning we hoped for the flexibility to always have one of us home with our kids during their early years. As my husband’s Winnipeg Wedding Photography business grew he began adding themed collections and destination wedding invitations to his list of services (with a background in graphic design, this made perfect sense!). I began lending a hand in customer service and designing proofs during busy times and when our son was born, I knew I had to be a work-at-home-mom and taking over Empire Invites enabled me to do that. Now, we have two beautiful children, our stationery business has grown leaps & bounds (we now provide stationery to couple’s all over the globe, although are proud to boast all our products are homemade with love in Canada!) and we offer, in my opinion, one of the largest selections of theme and destination wedding invitations around.
