As a wedding photographer in Dublin, I have had the privilege of capturing some incredibly special moments in some of the loveliest landscapes and most awe-inspiring properties on the planet.
While it would be impossible to list all of the breathtakingly beautiful places to tie the knot on the Emerald Isle, I have managed to narrow it down to a few of my absolute favourites. To get your inspired, here are the best wedding venues in Ireland.
I had the pleasure of being the wedding photographer for a gorgeous couple who crossed the Atlantic to get married in the Ashford Castle. It is easy to see why this stately spot won Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best” award. A medieval castle turned into a five-star hotel at the border of Counties Mayo and Galway, Ashford Castle is easily one of the best wedding destinations in the world.
Another stately property option, the seven-hundred-year-old Barberstown Castle in County Kildare is surrounded by twenty acres of gardens. One of Ireland’s most historic castles, this place is every wedding photographer’s dream. Not only is it picture perfect, it has regularly been voted amongst the greatest wedding venues in Ireland as an “Exclusive Use” option as well as the “Castle Venue of the Year.”
Ashley Park House
In County Tipperary, you will find this eighteenth century country house. Nestled in beech woodland and surrounded by gardens, Ashley Park House has an incredible old world charm. They cater to wedding events, both large and small, and are an opulent option for a tranquil wedding in a timeless setting.
Another impeccable Irish wedding venue not far from Dublin, Carton House has it all. With a striking Baroque interior, this historic house is one of Ireland’s most handsome hotels. They also offer a full-time wedding coordinator who will ensure that your big day goes off without a hitch!
Located in Glaslough in County Monaghan, Castle Leslie Estate was the site of one of the most unforgettable weddings that I have had the pleasure of photographing. Amongst Ireland’s most picturesque castles, this made for a dream location to hold a wedding and reception.
So, are you ready to find your ideal venue? While wedding photography is inspiring, there is so much to consider when you’re trying to find a wedding venue in Ireland. From the size of your guest list to your budget to our famous Irish weather, it is essential to take everything into consideration to ensure that you have found the venue that is just right for you and your guests.
