Today’s super helpful guest post comes to us from Lizzy Ellingson of Blueprint Registry. Enjoy!

For generations past, allowing guests to randomly choose wedding gifts was a risky business. After all, who needs more than one fondue set or blender? Who really trusts their relatives to pick items which match their taste and style? Millennials are breaking trends, and are not only doing most of their wedding registry activity online, it is also becoming more commonplace to ask for cash gifts to help with the honeymoon or for a down-payment on a home.

Our friends at Pixelicious (Montreal, QC) created this helpful list of simple posing tips to help you feel at ease in front of the camera on the big day. Enjoy!

1. Start by turning the body slightly away from the camera

We tend to avoid photographing female subjects straight on as this makes her look widest by seeing the full width between both shoulders. The other extreme is to turn the body completely sideways but this will emphasize the arm and the profile angle of the subject’s face, not always flattering for someone with a long or crooked nose. Therefore we only need to turn just slightly to capture a slimmer silhouette. As to turning left or right, that’s just a personal preference but girls tend to have a “better side”, we go with that if it makes her more comfortable.

formal outdoor wedding ceremony

Today’s lovely guest post comes to us from Peter Boruchowitz of Our Wedding Officiant NYC! Enjoy:

An article I recently read about Millenials’ biggest wedding regrets quoted a young bride saying that her regret was that she didn’t pay more attention to the ceremony. This made me sad to read, because no professional wedding officiant should allow that to happen. The ceremony is the reason for the celebration that follows. That’s why my motto is: Your perfect wedding starts with your perfect ceremony. Weddings go by so fast, and you want to be sure that you’re making a memory together that will last a lifetime. Even if you’re not interested in planning the text or details of the ceremony, the best of us will make sure that you’re focused and present during the ceremony.

But it should also reflect who you are as a couple and the kind of future you want to set up for yourselves. Below are some of our top tips for curating a registry that shows off who you are as a couple, and that will get you the things you truly want and need.
