1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

My journey as a Wedding Planner began in 1998 when I was a junior in college at the University of Washington in Seattle (Go Dawgs!). I took an Entrepreneur class and our professor taught us how to write a business plan, and we could choose any business – so I decided that focusing on Wedding Planning would be super fun! Writing that business plan was truly the first step that sparked my journey that lead me where I am today! After I graduated, I went into the Human Resources field and worked for a variety of companies including Starbucks and Accenture. While I loved HR, I knew that someday I definitely wanted to pursue Wedding Planning as a career. So, I took on a part-time job at my church in Seattle (First Presbyterian) as a Day-Of Coordinator – I discovered that I loved working with brides, so I started a Company on the side while I still had my full-time job. I was eventually blessed to be able to take my Company full-time and pursue my dream of being a true entrepreneur – thus, Sweet Pea Events was born! In 2008, my family and I moved to Dallas to take on a new adventure, so Sarah Gai now runs our Seattle office.

1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

I lived in San Diego for over 14 years and my background is in corporate and political events. I actually had fun planning my own wedding and I am a very decisive person so I had it all done in 3 months with the rest of the time spent enjoying my engagement. Once my husband’s career sent us to Oahu, the light bulb went off and I made the jump to wedding planning and started my company. We lived on the island for 5 years and once my husband retired, we headed back home to Southern California at the end of 2010.

 With the return to California, I really decided to focus on my niche –  specializing in assisting Southern California couples with their weddings on Oahu. With the experience of actually living and working in Hawaii, I have a unique service to offer my couples, providing peace of mind to them for their destination wedding by getting to work with them in person but I also maintain vendor and industry relationships on the island, as well as coordination staff. Most of the time couples don’t get to meet their consultant until they arrive for their wedding, so this provides a huge advantage for them!  I also provide service to those couples who want to have a Temecula Winery wedding since that is where I am physically located.

When I’m not flying to Hawaii to work, or enjoying my involvement with the Temecula Valley Wedding Professionals, I love entertaining at home with my husband of almost 10 years, relaxing with Pinterest on my iPad (pinning wedding inspiration and tips, of course!) and spending time with our two children, Madison and Carson, both of whom were born in Hawaii.

I’ve been ‘dreaming in wedding’ since I can remember. Weddings and event planning have always been of interest to me and deep down, I knew it was something I was going to do sometime in my life.   I’ve always noticed many wedding planners start in this industry after they get married…that was not the case for me. Stiletto Events has been around for almost 2 1/2 years and I only recently got married in October 2011. My husband is now my partner in crime and has helped me with each and every wedding since. Though we are small, we are a powerhouse for wedding planning. Attention to detail and working with any budget sets Stiletto Events aside from most other Wedding Planning companies.

I started working in the wedding industry 10 years ago…it was the perfect fit right away. I always knew I wanted to be a wedding coordinator and in 2009 Clementine was born. Myself, Melissa and Loren all came from a catering background so we love all the tiny details, logistics, floor plans, menus etc… we really pride ourselves on our relationships with Chicago’s top venues and vendors. We like to make the planning process fun and we’ll do whatever it takes to ensure our client’s vision is delivered. Each couple is different and that is what really keeps things interesting!

My name is Ashley Fuentes and I am the owner of Event Solutions. My husband and I started Event Solutions in August of 2007. Like many companies we started off very small and working from our home. In 2010 we hired our first full-time wedding planner and moved into our current location. Later that year, we hired 2 additional full-time wedding planners as we were taking on more and more weddings. Each year we have been in business, we have planned and produced more weddings than the previous year – we are definitely a growing company! Planning weddings is our passion.
