If you’re looking for inspiration for a vintage themed garden wedding then today’s styled shoot, brought to us by Peachy Keen Coordination (Portland, OR) is for you. We love the lush setting, romantic details and, of course, the ridiculously cute pups! Here’s more from Peachy Keen Coordination:
This amazing team of wedding professionals and I were just entering our busiest season, but my oh my we had been ITCHING to work together and as we know in the wedding world, those opportunities don’t always get to happen. So, we laughed and said “you know, let’s just go for it! Let’s take a ‘day off’ and have some fun together.” Boy did we. Inspired by my love/obsession/”omg-look-at-how-cute-my-pups-are” we coordinated (corgi-nated) a styled shoot around my four legged fur babies. The theme quickly emerged into an English Teatime with the play on words, “You are CORGIally Invited”.
See more after the cut!
The ever so talented Sewell Sweets created an over the top white tiered cake with dainty floral details made completely of sugar. The cake was complete with the custom corgi cake topper for the puppy lovers. Other teatime elements were reflected in the adorable tea-length dress and birdcage headpiece provided by The White Dress, Portland and tea dyed namecards. Don’t forget those special treats for good behavior! And of course, no flowergirl/ring bearer is official until their have their floral embellishments provided by Pomarius Nursery, which also served as the beautiful scenery.
For me personally, my favorite memory in all of this leading up to the shoot was training my pups to sit and smile. Yes, I kid you not — teaching my 9 month and 6 month old pups to SMILE. Which by the way, so incredibly worth it…they are officially the dopiest little corgis I’ve ever seen and walk around smiling all the time now. Like any parent trying to get their children to laugh, I was constantly singing, dancing, lifting their cheeks, talking in that really high-obnoxious-crazy-woman voice. Yeah, you know the one I’m talking about! Deena Selbak and I must have seemed cooky ourselves as she was taking their photos.
But they had such great posture and took their roles very seriously on the day of the shoot. Little divas in the making as I joked. Hilarious enough though, our #humanmodels were a real life couple too, and I swear my pups grew in love with these models by the end of the shoot. #notrainingrequired . D. Selbak Photography captured endearing shots of all four of our models.
Graham (my little boy) was hamming it up with our bride, Summer. Seriously goofy eyes and all sorts of giggles going on between the two of them. And GiGi (my babygirl) was literally drooling over Cyrus our groom model. The photos make them sincerely look like a family. Who wouldn’t want this kind of experience? I get all sorts of giddy when I see a corgi on the street, I’d be a happy woman getting to have wedding photos with them!
So with all of that said…the training, the goofy, the crazy-corgi-lady mentality that can’t be healthy. I encourage all couples to branch out and be absolutely silly on their real wedding day. Soak it up; be characters; remember that the day isn’t just about you, it’s about your little family. Give yourselves so many reasons to smile and be goobers.
