Featured Invitation Design: Dogwood Blossom Invitation by Blossom Accents

Today’s featured invitation is this beautifully illustrated invitation suite by Agnes from Blossom Accents, based in Cleveland, OH! Agnes says:

Many of my designs come from client requests but this particular one comes from personal inspiration. My inspiration comes from so many different subjects such as a walk through the neighborhood, traveling on vacation, window shopping, browsing the internet or spotting a interesting fabric design someone may be wearing.

The Dogwood Blossom Invitation was inspired during the spring season when everything starts blooming! Where I live, the neighborhoods are full of gorgeous flowering trees. I’m always snapping some quick photos with my iPhone or trusty SLR camera and from there many of the artworks come to life.

All of my artworks are original. I love the color pencil media because I can get very detailed and they provide great control of technique (at least for me).

I wanted the whole invitation suite to have an earthy feel. Therefore, I chose a vibrant spring like green with a dark earthy brown paper color combination. I feel these two vibrant colors balanced the lightness of the dogwood artwork well.

Also, I love when an invitation has a special quote placed somewhere discretely. “How beautiful is the day touched by love…” Anonymous This quote was chosen by me because I strongly believe everyday is so much better when you are touched by love even if it’s just through a simple smile or a gracious “thank you”.

Lovely work Agnes, thank you for sharing!  For more about Blossom Accents, check out her WeddingInviteLove profile, or head straight to her website.
