Today’s featured invitation comes from Marit Hanson Weddings, which also happens to be me. I worked with WeddingPlannerLove’s J. Lauren Events to create these custom invitations especially for Ashley and Craig’s big day. I created beyond the invitations for them, which I hope to share on the blog soon! In the meantime, here’s a little background on this suite, which I’ve coined “Yes, Honey!”:
Jen contacted me last winter about creating a custom design that “uses a modern pattern with rusty orange and tiffany blue.” I tried out a few designs, but we landed on a nice honeycomb design that carried through the invitation.
It was also important to the bride that a rose be used somewhere in the design. The flower has meaning between her and her mother – I just LOVE these special touches and found a place for it on the reception card.

I typically like to keep my designs simple, using only a couple fonts. For this design, I opted for multiple typefaces – I love how they all came together to create a modern yet elegant invitation.
I was so lucky to work with J. Lauren Events on this suite with Ashley. Together, we created so many amazing paper goods for this wedding! From a cake wrap, to table numbers, menus and even door hangers for the guests’ hotel rooms – no detail was left behind! I hope to share them here when the photos come back from the photographer. Congratulations Craig and Ashley!
