How did you get into wedding planning?

Believe it or not, it was a thought while sitting at my desk where I was working for a small Wall Street financial firm. I posted an ad on craigslist saying that I was a Wedding Planner in the New York Area. I had NO clue how to plan a wedding or much less design one. Needless to say, I snagged my first wedding client who worked for a major New York music and production company. Her event was a hit and I couldn’t believe I pulled off planning her entire wedding!

What’s your favorite part of the job?

I love bringing my clients vision to life. I also love the relationships that I build while working with my clients. A lot of them definitely make me feel like I’m a part of their family which is wonderful!

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started?

Do not be afraid to be YOU. Do not be afraid to work with clients that fit your business model and who you can relate to on all levels of your business. And last but not least LOVE what you do and OWN it!!!

What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?

Playing with my two beautiful children, traveling and dancing my heart out! I love being on the dance floor whenever I get the chance.

Any great stories from working with a client?

I have the pleasure of working with some amazing, giving and thoughtful clients. One of my recent clients surprised their parents with a trip to Paris. How awesome is that?! They unveiled the surprise at their wedding rehearsal dinner.

What is your current favorite color combination?

My color faves change with the season or with the trends when it comes to weddings and events. Right now I am in love with the Rose gold and blush pink color trend. But my absolute all time favorite color combo would be purple and gold. It’s just so royal and regal looking!

Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?

I love the vintage glamour trend. I also love the trend of NOT always conforming to tradition. I don’t think anything ever goes out of style, you just have to put your own spin on it.
