Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
Edith L Photography is a full-service boutique wedding photography, videography, and photo booth business located in West Los Angeles, CA. Our company’s tag line is Simply Chic, Inspired by You because we believe that the best way of documenting weddings is to blend our creative vision with our client’s unique relationship dymanics and personality. Edith was a licensed therapist in the State of NJ and she uses this to her advantage when it comes to truly understanding what her couples need. When couples view their images, Edith wants them to re-experience all of the emotion, fun, and memories of that day in a way that they would have wanted to view it. All clients go through a personalized creative process with Edith so that their wedding is documented in a special and unique manner.

How did you get into wedding photography?
I got into the wedding photography industry after my own wedding as I was inspired by the experience of being a bride myself. I loved working with my wedding photographers and have looked over my images time and time again. I know from personal experience how important it is to document the most important day in someone’s life. I love the details that go into planning a wedding and getting to know couples on a more personal level.
What is your favorite part of the wedding day to capture?
My personal favorite parts of a wedding are capturing the couple’s portraits and all of the beautiful details that brides put so much effort into making. I also love the getting ready images.
What is the most awkward moment you’ve experienced while on the job?
Being a female in a highly male dominated field can be tricky especially when dealing with older generations who are not used to seeing women in these roles. There are times I do encounter guests at weddings who will make interesting remarks about my talent or the fact that I am a woman photographer.
What’s the best thing you ever ate at a wedding?
It’s typically the wedding cake and cocktail hour!
What is your favorite venue and why?
My favorite venue in Los Angeles is the Vibiana for its elegance and amazing architectural details.
Nikon or Canon?
I have been a Canon shooter since I started photography and never looked back!
What is your dream location to shoot a wedding?
I would love to shoot a wedding in Venice, Italy…it just exudes romance to me!
If you could shoot any celebrity wedding (past, present or future), who would be the lucky couple?
I would love to shoot Nicole Richie and Adam Goldstein as they are young, hip, and a little edgier.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding photographers just getting started?
Don’t just go into a wedding with blinders on…realize that most couples don’t hire wedding planners and photographers end up doing a large part of this job during the wedding day. Become more involved in the wedding day timeline to make the day run smoother for you and your couple.
