Today the planning duo Cheeky Glam Events, made up of Jamie and Heather, shared an interview and great photos of their events with us! I just know this one will leave you inspired. Thanks ladies!
1. Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
We founded Cheeky Glam Events on pure love. Love of events, love of people, and the love of design. At the core of CGE is our main objective to create events that reflect the amazing people that we are fortunate enough to work with. We excel at marrying together aesthetically beautiful and personally significant details that speak to the eyes and the heart. We wholeheartedly believe that every successful event begins with flawless communication and take great pride in the relationships that we build with our clients. We are their consultants, advisors, confidants and best of all- their friends. Our mission is always the same; to ensure that each one of our clients and their guests enjoy their special day in its entirety.

2. How did you get into wedding planning?
This amazing partnership began a few years ago after sitting back to back planning corporate events for three+ years. We became masters of golf outings, memorial galas, charity events, cocktail parties, etc. While these events were great experiences, they didn’t allow us to put forth our creative ability or speak to our hearts the way that weddings do. We decided that we had the skills and passion needed to venture into the wedding world. We WERE the eight year old girls dreaming about our wedding days. We eat, sleep, and breathe every aspect that goes into weddings- not just the pretty stationery, crisp linens, or stunning gowns, but the real emotion that is in the air from start to finish. We like to think that wedding planning “found us” a very long time ago.

3. What’s your favorite part of the job?
While we individually enjoy MANY different aspects of this job, we can both agree that meeting and building relationships with all different types of people is by far our favorite. We have encountered so many amazing people- brides, grooms, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, as well as other vendors- that we now call friends. We truly have a job that makes us smile every single day.

4. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started?
The biggest lesson that we have learned is that no matter what, you should ALWAYS be open to acquiring new information- whether it is praise, advice, or direction. We have no ego when it comes to learning and would absolutely pass that ability along to planners who are just getting started. There will always be someone with more experience than you; learn from them and grow while keeping yourself intact.

5. What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?
Would it be cliché if we said shopping? So be it. Shopping (it’s an art), reading, road trips, and of course spending time with our families and new hubbies!
6. Any great stories from working with a client?
Every single wedding has a great story! Emotions run wild from bridal preparation to the last dance and we LOVE every minute of it. One of our most recent favorites was a “reveal” that we coordinated at The Cup in Wantagh, NY which just so happened to be where the bride and groom met many years ago and had their surprise civil ceremony. It almost didn’t happen, but with some time crunching and cooperative weather, the bride and groom (and bridal party!) were able to get some amazing photos taken in the same location that they first found each other. Truly special and touching.

7. What is your current favorite color combination?
We both fell for blush pink, ivory, and champagne at the same time. It really is such an elegant color combination. Neutrals with pops of color will always have our hearts. We also cannot deny our immense love for jewel tones.

8. Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
Every single couple has their own wedding vibe. We absolutely LOVE when couples stay away from “trends,” but instead do things that are completely specific to them. – Themed weddings, “DIY” weddings, theatre weddings, mansion weddings – Each element contributes to the personality of the event and that is what truly makes the day memorable. Personal touches will NEVER go out of style.
