Today we’re bringing you an interview with Elena, the CEO and founder of HeraEl Wedding Planner, based in Italy! Enjoy:
How did you get into wedding planning?
I became part of the world of weddings because I am incredibly in love with emotions, every hug, every kiss and every caress excite me, almost to make me move (for 90% of the time;)). In addition to this sensitivity, working before close contact with couples, (but not as a wedding planner) I started to understand and perceive what their real needs were, so I started to specialize myself, with courses, training sessions, manual books to excel in this wonderful role.
See the rest of the interview after the cut!
What’s your favorite part of the job?
The contact with the spouses, to interfere with them, to listen to them and to understand their every sensation is the aspect that excites me to the maximum.
In the last period I dedicate myself principally to make intimate weddings, here I find the maximum realization of my work. Emotions are lived in a more intense way, spouses, relatives and close friends live all supported by strong emotions.
What is the greatest lesson you have learned, and will you pass on to other new planners of the newly initiated marriage?
Knowing how to really listen to couples, and make them understand the importance of your role and be supported by real professionals (photographer, florists …)
What are your hobbies or non-business activities?
I love being with my family, I practice yoga and I love cooking. And I’m a huge sushi lover.
Any good story about working with a client?
The biggest emotion I received with clients was a few years ago, one of my very first marriages, my first foreign couple, contacted me and one of the first things they told me was… we trust you, of your person, your ideas and the professional you are, this is why we decided that at our wedding you can think of you in every aspect, colors, shapes, flowers… everything! I leave you to imagine the feelings I felt! They left me speechless.
What is your current favorite color scheme?
I prefer the shades of blue, white, beige and pink.
What advice or advice can you give to couples who are in the middle of planning?
I recommend making choices in line with their emotions, not to be influenced by friends and relatives.
