Today’s interview is with the fabulous Rae of Loveberry Lane! I love the simple bow with the a sparkling gem in the middle — it is simple and inviting. Great interview and advice, thank you so much for sharing with us today!
1. How did you get started doing wedding invitations?
I had worked in the industry for years as a wedding photographer, but it wasn’t until I joined the design department of a greeting card company in 2010 that the idea for Loveberry Lane was born. A friend and I used to meet at our local Gelato bar with our children after work. While they would play, we would drink tea and brainstorm ideas for a small business that would enable us to have the perfect work/life balance that everyone dreams of finding. The idea of creating wedding stationery was the result of one of these sessions. It was the perfect way for me to combine those years of experience in the wedding industry with my design skills, while keeping my weekends free to spend with the family. As for the work/life balance…I’m a lot closer to it than I’ve ever been before.

2. What is your favorite color combination?
Absolutely anything light and girly, but I’m a big fan of duck egg blue and cream.
3. What is the most unique invitation you have designed?
The ‘Rebecca’ wedding invitation. It was designed specifically for a bride who was having a ‘bird themed’ wedding. I got so many orders after the invitations were sent out to her guests that I decided to add it to the range. And yes, the gorgeous bride’s name was Rebecca.
4. Do you have a favorite typeface?
Call me old fashion, but for the most part it’s Edwardian Script. It reminds me of my grandma’s handwriting.
5. What is the most bizarre request you have received?
I have to be all dull and boring and say I haven’t had any bizarre requests from my stationery clients. Although I’m very open minded so I guess the realm of bizarre would be quite broad.
6. Ampersand or the word “and?”
Ampersand where ever possible. It’s so much more decorative and creates a sense of balance.
7. Any advice for brides?
Remember to breath and enjoy the process of planning your wedding and getting married. Try to keep things in perspective, and as you make those best laid plans, if life should decide to give you lemons…make pink lemonade!
8. Do you offer more than just stationery?
Just Stationery at the moment, but we do have an extensive list of preferred reputable vendors that we like to pass on to our couples in order to help them with other products and services they may need when planning their wedding
