Today’s interview is with Milk and Ice Cream, not cookies! I just love her personal style to each invitation. Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Amy!
1. How did you get started doing wedding invitations?
I have always loved stationery and cards. I would spend hours at the card store trying to pick the perfect card only problem is I could never find what I was looking for, that’s why I started designing my own cards. My cousin was getting married a few years back, and I wanted to design her wedding invitation set as their wedding gift. She graciously accepted and the rest is history.

2. What is your favorite color combination?
I am currently very bias because I am working with my Fiance on our own wedding invitation design. I would have to say our colors are my favorite combo of yellow and grey with a splash of blue.
3. What is the most unique invitation you have designed?
The most unique invitation I have designed is the fantasy wedding invitation for Prince William & Kate Middleton. The royal wedding madness got the best of me and after seeing their very traditional official wedding invitation I was inspired to redesign it in my style.
4. Do you have a favorite typeface?
My favorite typeface is Aphrodite. It’s a beautiful script font that looks polished and not too swirly nor overdone. I love it.
5. What is the most bizarre request you have received?
The most bizarre request I have gotten was to design pretzel flowers on a set of wedding invitations. The bride loved flowers, but she loved pretzels more. They were even breaking a pretzel at their wedding ceremony instead of bread. I incorporated the pretzel into the flower and it actually worked out nicely!
6. Ampersand or the word “and?”
Always ampersands unless I feel like switching up.
7. Any advice for brides?
The best advice I would give to brides is to set a budget that allows you to spend on a custom wedding invitation set. Paper and design can be expensive, so I would advise them to plan ahead. The save the date card and wedding invitations set the whole tone for your wedding! Get your guests excited about your wedding by sending them beautiful designs that represent you as a couple
8. Do you offer more than just stationery?
Yes! M&IC is experiencing a Baby Boom at the moment. Recently I have designed custom baby shower invites, baby announcements, and baby birthday invitations along with my wedding work. I also offer ceremony and reception pieces as well as custom rubber stamps. Stop by Milk and Ice Cream on Facebook to see all my work.
