1. How did you get started doing wedding invitations?
Graphic design and entertaining/event planning have both always been a big passion of mine. I got started designing event and wedding invitations about two years ago for friends and family. Some of my friends were getting married and asked me to do their wedding invitations, and I fell in love with the idea of designing wedding invitations and stationery. From there, Printed Ink was born, and I have loved every minute of it!

2. What is your favorite color combination?
My favorite color combination changes often, but I always go back to purples. Purple has always been my favorite color so I am biased, but I love using shades of purples in weddings. It can be used with so many different styles and it can go with almost any other color.
3. What is the most unique invitation you have designed?
I consider each of my custom designed wedding invitations to be unique because I design them based on what the bride and groom envision for their special day. I take into consideration the details of their wedding along with the story of how they met or why they fell in love to create a one-of-a-kind invitation that fits their personality.
4. Do you have a favorite typeface?
This is another one of those things that changes often as I find new fonts to use. I love using a combination of script fonts with plain fonts to create variety and style on an invitation. I wouldn’t say that I have a specific favorite font though as I tend to use a variety.
5. What is the most bizarre request you have received?
I wouldn’t say that I have received any really bizarre requests, yet, but I am willing to try anything and always up for a challenge!
6. Ampersand or the word “and?”
Let me first say, I love this question and I often find myself battling with which I like better. I think it depends on the style of invitation and which fits better. Although, I always love a fancy script ampersand and think it can really add a lot to a design.
7. Any advice for brides?
As both a newlywed and a wedding stationery designer, I have learned a lot about wedding planning. The one thing I would say sticks out to me, is that it is important to plan ahead so that you are not stressed when your big day comes. It is such a special and important day and you want to make sure that you can enjoy it and remember the moment.
8. Do you offer more than just stationery?
I offer wedding day of details that can be custom designed to match each invitation including programs, menus, place cards, seating charts, table numbers, and more. In addition, I offer a variety of other stationery products including birth announcements, baby shower invitations, bridal or wedding shower invitations, birthday party invitations, holiday cards, personal stationery, and much more. Pretty much anything designed on paper, I will create!
