How did you get into the business?

5 years ago my brother helped me get a job at his company. I was tasked with doing social media for their jewelry department and quickly realized I loved it and that I was good at it.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

Trying on all the stunning diamond jewelry we make.

If you could pick one unique product or service offering, which would be your favorite, and why?

Black Diamond jewelry. Black diamonds are timeless and chic, so you can never go wrong!

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to others just getting started in your field?

It’s hard to get hired social media when you yourself are not on any social media sites.  In order for an employer to hire you, you have to prove that you have a presence and the know how to be on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. It’s also important to post interesting content often and consistently.   Find your niche and roll with it!

What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?

Is Netflix a hobby? I read any and all kinds of fashion blogs. I love award show season because I get to lose myself in the Red Carpet fashions!

Any great stories from working with a client?

Recently, we worked with a client who designed his and his fiancee’s wedding bands all while working as a firefighter in California’s biggest fire of the summer. He told us nothing would stop him from making sure his wife-to-be got her perfect ring. It was incredibly sweet.

What makes you different from others in your field?

Persistence, hard work, always trying new things. I love fashion, so I am genuinely excited about our products.

Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?

Well, for one, why does everyone insist on going strapless? I’ve seen beautiful sleeved dresses that look great on all kinds of figures. I always love a boho bride; a bride is most beautiful when she feels (and looks) like herself!

What tips or advice can you give to couples who are in the midst of planning their big day?

Lists, lists, lists! I swear by Google Docs; you can take them anywhere nowadays!

Make sure to hire or assign a family member/friend to take care of day-of logistics. You may think you got it all in your head, but you do not want to have to delegate on your special day!
