Today’s wedding planner interview is with Frantseska and Sarah of The Diamond Rock, based in Fira, Greece! Enjoy:
Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
The “Diamond Rock” is a full service event planning and designing experience. As a team we focus on all our events, creating tailor-made concepts with attention to detail. We offer a wide range of packages that suit every taste and budget. We are familiar with the best local vendors to provide our couples with high quality services. We keep up with the current trends, which enable us to create one-of-a-kind and truly unforgettable events! We are dedicated to providing our clients with the comfort that allows them to enjoy their wedding! We know how stressful (especially for the bride-to-be) it is to think about and organize everything for the wedding. This is where we enter: we are here for our couples, to listen carefully to their wishes, to consult them and assist with anything they may need in every step until the big day. We speak fluent English, French, Italian, Arabic, Russian and Greek, but our success is mainly due to our client-centered communication approach and the relationship of trust that we build! Of course, this is why we end up becoming good friends with our clients and we continue having fun long after the event! And this is exactly the way to make a couple feel even more special than they already do on their most important day of their life.

15 years ago a strong friendship started and recently evolved into a wonderful partnership.
Our jobs brought us together in Santorini, a stunningly beautiful island and one of the top destinations for weddings in the world. Our love for travel has made us familiar with different cultures throughout the world and as a result it’s easy for us to communicate very effectively with people of different nationalities and mentalities. We realized that, together, we have the ability and taste to organize unique and bespoke weddings in this gorgeous location and offer a lasting experience to couples. So, we joined our talents and know-how and created “The Diamond Rock”.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
When we keep in touch with our former clients and we end up fooling around together months after their weddings! What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started? To have patience, know how to listen, be open to new ideas and keep the high quality of our services.
What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?
Frantseska: As an architect and interior designer, I am passionate about everything around decoration and colors. On the other hand, thanks to my Italian roots I love to cook for my family and friends; the everyday gathering around the table for lunch is sacred to me! I also enjoy travelling and one can tell by visiting my house! It fascinates me to meet new people and cultures and explore new places. I know Sarah will say the same!
Sarah: I’m a fashion designer and partner in retail of 4 fashion boutiques that are running for 16 years now in Santorini. So, it’s inevitable to love fashion and have an eye for detail. What really relaxes me after a full day is my daughter! I really enjoy travelling, especially during winter, to more warm countries, like Thailand. We’ve been there with Frantseska and our families several times!
Any great stories from working with a client?
In one of our most recent weddings, the couple asked us their Labradors to be symbolically present at their wedding. So, we added in the décor a picture of two cute Labs representing theirs!
What is your current favorite color combination?
Ivory with pale pink for a romantic result; white combined with a tense color, like yellow or blue to make it more modern; gold with white for a luxurious wedding.
Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
The petal basket: we’d love to see it gone! Call us old-fashioned maybe, but we love the tradition of throwing rice at the newlyweds! In general, we love every wedding to have a traditional touch: since we work mainly with international couples, it’s always nice to include a special tradition from each culture.

What tips or advice can you give to couples who are in the midst of planning?
Do a thorough research on the place and the wedding planners and do it early enough. As hiring a wedding planner may not be very common yet among various cultures, we encourage you to trust one. It’s not that the bride and groom cannot make it on their own, but, in order to relax and enjoy their wedding day as well as the whole process to it, it’s essential to leave it all on a wedding planner. Last but not least: do not get anxious! (we know that’s not possible, but…) Once you decide to have your dream wedding in Santorini, we are here for you!
