Recently, we featured this whimsical floral illustrated wedding invitation suite by Paperchain Wedding Stationery. Today we’re going to get to know Justine Rowe, the talented designer behind the scenes! Enjoy:
How did you get started doing wedding invitations?
It was quite by accident! As I was (and still am) a graphic designer my sister asked me to design her wedding stationery for her. I produced the stationery for her and really enjoyed doing so. I then went on to design the wedding stationery for my own wedding and received lots of great compliments on both sets. I decided at this point to set up Paperchain Wedding Stationery.

Every time I design a new stationery collection I really enjoy trying out new colour combinations. My favourite at the moment is ‘Sparkle Autumn’. I love the autumnal colours. They are slightly muted and earthy, yet warm and soothing.
What is the most unique invitation you have designed?
I designed a wedding invitation for a bride that worked in the National Marine Aquarium and her passion was caring for sea horses. She wanted her wedding invitations to reflect this. It was a really fun invitation to design.
Do you have a favorite typeface?
I love the hand drawn typefaces that are really popular at the moment. My favourite is Moonflower. It’s modern, fun and quirky.
What is the most bizarre request you have received?
I think that I have been lucky and have only ever received fairly ordinary enquiries. On a couple of occasions I have been asked change some of my designs to quite strange colour schemes, that I didn’t agree with, but everyone has their own tastes!
I would almost always use ‘and’, although there are occasions when working a bride and grooms names together an ampersand will work better.
Any advice for brides?
Try to choose wedding stationery that reflects a little bit of your personality and your style of wedding. There are so many beautiful wedding stationery designs available today, choose stationery that you love!
No. I made a decision to stick to wedding stationery and focus on what I really love to produce. That way I can spend time designing new stationery and doing what I really do best!
