Today’s wedding stationer interview is with Heidi Bartlett of idieh design, based in Phoenix, Arizona! Enjoy:
How did you get started doing wedding invitations?
I started my company right out of college (with a graphic design degree) and all my friends were getting married so it seemed like the obvious choice. It’s only grown from there!
See more after the cut!
What is your favorite color combination?
Magenta, Purple, Hints of Red, Black & White with a touch of Seafoam (this MIGHT be the colors of my upcoming wedding). ;)
What is the most unique invitation you have designed?
Hmmm…that’s a tough one. I’ve designed SO MANY invitations over the years. I’ll go with the wooden veneer boxed invitations. Each suite was carefully packaged in a mailer box that was filled with mini rose buds. The final piece was definitely a WOW! statement.
Do you have a favorite typeface?
Depends on the project I’m working on. But, let’s go with Avenir. Clean, Simple, Modern. My jam.
What is the most bizarre request you have received?
To create a boxed invitation suite with custom areas cut out to fill with custom chocolates. When you removed the chocolates it would reveal the important info. Definitely unique, but not super feasible in AZ’s hot weather.
Ampersand or the word “and?”
Definitely ampersand. WAY more personality.
Any advice for brides?
Just like our motto: Own your story. Live your style. Focus on infusing you and your fiancé’s personality and personal vibe into your special day to make it truly one-of-a-kind. Be true to yourselves and it will no doubt be a day you’ll never forget!
Do you offer more than just stationery?
Most definitely! I offer Brand Development, Website Design, and Brand Consulting & Styling. As if that’s not enough, I also offer products for the ridiculously rad & creatively chic in my online shop.
