Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.

I want to capture personalities, dynamic, and real moments. I want to tell raw, genuine and unique stories not just of weddings, but of relationships and live. The real moments mean everything to me. I’m passionate about capturing authentic moments and the love and closeness that is unique and different for every couple I get to meet. I’m not into stiff poses or anything generic because I like see past all that to capture the real you. Real life is what intrigues me. I want to listen to your stories and reveal them with my camera. Connection and trust, as well as an intentional aesthetic, will lead to powerful and true images so your story can be relived through them for years to come. I love working with couples that value photography and trust my creative process! We are located near New York City and available worldwide.

How did you get into wedding photography?

My mom bought me a camera when I was in middle school, and it just snowballed from there! I stumbled into photography when I was in 7th grade when I first moved to Ocean City, NJ. My mom bought me my first camera for Christmas and I had recently moved towns, so I would ride my little bike around to the boardwalk and beach and find interesting things to take photos of like bike wheels and kites. Eventually, I started taking portraits of people and became fascinated with being able to capture more than just a photo, but something that gave off a feeling and a vibe, or told someone’s story, or captured the essence of a moment. Things picked up as I shared my work and I started shooting more and more, working for different companies and taking on little shoots, eventually leading me to start my own wedding photography company. (I now shoot weddings all over the world!) I love shooting couples and being a part of a love story. I’m a hopeless romantic and I emotionally invest in all of my clients.

What is your favorite part of the wedding day to capture?

I love the little moments. Mom wiping a tear during the ceremony, friends laughing dooring the toasts.

What is the most awkward moment you’ve experienced while on the job?

At one wedding a few years ago, during the ceremony, I slipped on the flower petals that were on the tile floor!

What is your favorite venue and why?

The Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. I am obsessed with greenery, florals, greenhouses, and the like — so this venue just pulls at my heartstrings!

Nikon or Canon?

What is your dream location to shoot a wedding?

Europe :-)

If you could shoot any celebrity wedding (past, present or future), who would be the lucky couple?

Real couple? Because my go to would be Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey… :-)

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding photographers just getting started?

Every wedding, event, and shoot is an audition to connect with guests, the bridal party, the venue, and other wedding vendors — all who could recommend you to your dream client!

What tips or advice can you give to couples who are looking to hire a photographer to cover their big day?

Nowadays, everyone is a photographer, especially a “natural light” photographer, and it is SO easy to make a website and show a few good photos. Don’t be afraid to ask questions like how long they have been photographing weddings, if they have insurance and back up equipment, to view a full wedding gallery, read reviews, etc. I have heard way too many horror stories about unprofessional “girls with cameras” totally messing up a wedding day by either losing images, not know how to organize family photos, or finding themselves in a situation where they can’t use natural light. If their price seems too good to be true, it probably is – because they don’t have all the expenses that a professional photographer has!
