Today’s wedding planner interview is with Saranya Kularbvan of L’Amour Phuket Weddings & Events, based in Karon, Thailand! Enjoy:
Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
I am Thai, 29 years old and living on the beautiful island of Phuket. I have worked about 6 years in the luxury hospitality industry as an Event & Wedding Planner and since last year, I decided to open my own company with a colleague of mine, from France, who has more than 15 years in the luxury hospitality industry. Our company is dedicated to fulfilling all the dreams that a bride and groom ever imagined. We are 200% dedicated to what we do and we simply love it!

I’ve always enjoyed organizing things for people and it naturally cames to me working in the hospitality industry. This job is my dream. I do it for the couple’s smiles and tears of happiness. It should be the most perfect day of their married lives and I do my best to deliver.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I have 2 favorite parts: 1st one is the organization and preparation of the entire wedding and the 2nd one is the wedding itself where I see the couple and their guests happy and enjoying every moment.
What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned, and would pass along to other new wedding planners just getting started?
Don’t give up your dream but get the necessary knowledge before deciding to do it independently.
I enjoy eating a lot so I know all the best restaurant addresses in Phuket, from the street local to the fine dining experience! I also enjoy shopping, who does not?
Any great stories from working with a client?
All the stories are different from one to the other as they all have different requirements and envies but it’s always such a pleasure to be able to create all of their requests. Not one time have I said “sorry that won’t be possible”, everything is and should be possible. It’s always very rewarding when you receive news from your wedding couple to let you know how magical their wedding went.
What is your current favorite color combination?
White, Purple and Pink – most of our weddings are done on the beach front and I find this combination particularly elegant.
Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
Nowadays you see brides going down the aisle with the latest music hits, coloured wedding dresses, etc.. so even if wedding ceremony remains very traditional, it is still following our era.
I would say that one of the most important aspects is the location and then let us do the job to enjoy the moment as wedding preparation can be a very stressful moment for the couple.
