Today’s wedding vendor interview is with Magdalena Lipinska, creator of Cordially (New York, NY) a highly customizable wedding website. Enjoy!
Tell us a bit about yourself and your company.
My name is Magdalena and I’m a software developer with a great passion for design. When I was organizing my own wedding I realized that none of the existing wedding website builders offered the personalization level I needed. For my wedding I needed not just one wedding website; I needed roughly 50 different websites, one for every invited couple. Seeing this obvious gap in the market, I created Cordially.co with my mission being to create a wedding website that feels very unique and special for guests – when the invite is received it looks equally as stunning as if a beautifully calligraphed paper invitation had landed through the letterbox. In fact, my idea was that these individual bespoke websites would replace the printed invitations.
Cordially re-imagines the wedding website as we understand it today and turns it into a truly personal wedding invitation hub. Each guest becomes the center of attention with everyone getting a unique link to a website where their name and personalized wording plays a central role in the design. This level of customization together with versatile designs, cutting edge web technology and email analytics in place makes Cordially a useful and beautiful tool for collecting RSVPs and ensuring the guest’s interest is garnered.

How did you get into the business?
I built a prototype app for my own wedding and this project helped me to unleash my creativity. When the idea for Cordially came along, I went all the way. My best friend was the first user of Cordially beta and she absolutely loved it so that was how it all took off.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
I love to chat with users through the chat app on the cordially.co website. They are continually a great source of inspiration for the new features and improvements. I encourage users to talk to me and remind them that I’m not a robot!
If you could pick one unique product or service offering, which would be your favorite, and why?
Definitely it is the Cordially core feature; each guest has their very own unique wedding website that is personalized to suit them. I also like that Cordially’s templates are not limited to just one layout; most other wedding website builders offer one layout with just the option of changing the background photo and font style. Cordially’s templates are way more sophisticated then this.
What are your hobbies or non-work-related activities?
Any great stories from working with a client?
One couple asked me to try to figure out why a couple of their friends were not clicking on the website’s RSVP. It turned out that the email they had sent the invitation to was no longer in use by the guests. It made me think that simple statuses such as “invited”, “coming”, “not coming” are not enough. What we needed was a full span of analytics that would tell us what happened after the email with the invitation link was sent. Now you can easily see if the email was delivered, opened and clicked. It makes it easy to assess what is going on all of the time.
What makes you different from others in your field?
There are many reasons for Cordially being different from others in the field. For all wedding website builders out there the goal is to create a hub to take care of the wedding information. Cordially takes this concept one step further and becomes the first truly personal wedding online invitation site. Cordially templates are creative and each one is totally different. Most other wedding website builders offer just one layout and let you choose a background photo and font. Cordially’s templates are streets ahead.
With email analytics in place we can easily track RSVPs. Even using the incorrect email is not a problem, because you the sender will be advised that it has bounced and not been delivered. Cordially doesn’t spam your guests – all emails come from your email account. You can also fully translate it to suit your language with all phrases used in the app and RSVP form able to be translated and customized. Last but not least it makes it easy to collaborate with your fiancé or wedding planner as there is no need for shared passwords.
Are there any trends that you absolutely love or would love to see brides leave behind?
My favorite trend is personalization. It creates intimacy and the sense that somebody really put a lot of effort into preparing the wedding. Cordially makes this so easy to do.
What tips or advice can you give to couples who are in the midst of planning their big day?
Start practicing your first dance at least 4 months ahead unless you want it to become the most stressful part of your wedding!
