At Without a Hitch Boston we are often asked, “do I still need the help of a day-of coordinator if my venue already has its own coordinator?” Many venues have a coordinator included in their services- this person is employed by the venue to manage the events it hosts.  Having a venue coordinator is a great advantage but it is not the same as a day-of coordinator. A day-of coordinator is someone you trust with all tasks, big and small on your big day.

Venue Coordinator vs. Day-of Coordinator

Venue coordinators are a fantastic addition to your wedding.  They oversee the facility and the staff they provide on the day of.  Venue coordinators often help with menu selection, recommend vendors that the venue has previously worked with and sometimes even help coordinate your wedding timeline.  They have expert knowledge about the venue and know the ins and outs of general set up, but the main difference between the venue coordinator and DOC (day-of coordinator) is that a venue coordinator works for the VENUE.

A DOC works for YOU.  We consider the relationship between a couple and their DOC to be one of the most important things when it comes to planning your walk down the aisle.  Having a day-of coordinator who you connect with and who understands how you want your wedding to unfold saves you, and your venue coordinator, a lot of unnecessary stress.
