You know those weddings where you see photos and gasp out loud because they’re just that beautiful? Heather and Danny’s Atlantic Beach DIY extravaganza was one of those weddings. Photographer Michelle Oeil wrote:
Heather and Danny are a FUN couple, Danny is a drummer in a band and the moment Heather laid her eyes on him, she fell for him! The wedding was a vintage-glam inspired DIY, but at this beautiful luxurious hotel in Atlantic Beach FL. Heather looked like a movie starlette from the 40s.
Using lace (or a lace pattern) on invitation creates visual interest, texture, and a feeling of traditional elegance. I’ve rounded up some of my favorite lacy and lace-inspired invitations for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

I’ve just returned from my trip to NYC which included a visit to the very lovely, very wonderful, Bryn from Paperfinger! You’ve definitely seen her gorgeous calligraphy by now (from Oh So Beautiful Paper’s logo to Bryn’s gorgeous invitations that pop up on every paper and design blog.) So you can imagine my glee when she invited me to come to her studio.
Located in DUMBO, Brooklyn, Bryn’s studio is shared with an architecture firm, and her “studio” consisted of a couple desks in a separated area (covered in inspiration), right next to windows with a gorgeous view. It’s pretty awesome, check the pictures out:
The lovely lady herself.
With WeddingInviteLove already doing amazing things, and WeddingPlannerLove off the ground, the next step was obvious. Next up is WeddingPhotoLove.com, a directory just like our other properties — emphasizing the best vendors, putting the focus on profiles, and hopefully giving about-to-be-wed couples an easier way to find the people who will work with them on their amazing day.
We’ll be taking emails of interested parties now — either wedding photographers who want to be the first to join (basic profiles will be free, of course), or anyone who wants to be alerted to win we launch (which’ll be soon, we promise!)
Head to WeddingPhotoLove.com today and share with your friends!
It’s that time again! This time instead of holding the meetup in San Francisco, going to hold it on the peninsula to give us non-San-Franciscans a break. ;) Join friends and soon-to-be friends next Tuesday, October 25th at 840 Wine Bar in Redwood City for drinks (first bottle of wine on me), appetizers, and fun!
Anyone welcome, RSVP on Facebook or email me at [email protected]. :)
Our featured invitation posts are going to be changing a bit! Now that WeddingInviteLove and WeddingPlannerLove both exist, we want to give equal love to all the awesome vendors on both.
This was another stop, stagger, wait, what-was-that? kind of profile, with gorgeous art and beautiful design (loving the type combination below). I’m loving Anticipate Invitations, and they’ll be the headliner on WeddingInviteLove this week!
And a special shoutout to ellyB Events, who is WeddingPlannerLove’s first featured vendor! I know if I walked into a wedding with beautiful styling such as in the picture above, my socks (might literally) be knocked off. Amazing stuff.
Congrats to both vendors!
… well, not so much here in SoCal, where it’s been in the nineties the last few days. But I hear that the rest of the country has started feeling that crisp, blustery weather that I love so much!
Here’s what we covered on the blog this week:

A few week’s ago, I had the opportunity to visit Sunny of Puddle Jumpin’ Cards and to get a tour of the Portland Wedding Lounge, a studio dedicated to showcasing Portland wedding vendors. Such a great idea, since it means that smaller vendors will get a place to display their work to couples and get more clients.
Here are my pictures of the visit and of Sunny, as she did a bit of work while I was there!
Thanks again to Sunny for the visit, and best of luck to all of the vendors at the Portland Wedding Lounge — thanks for letting me come by!
This week’s roundup topic is one that I’m particularly fond of: birds. I don’t like birds in real life, but stick a bird on an invitation/poster/bag/receipt and I’m in love. Thought I’d share the aviary obsession this week, so here are ten great love bird invitations from our vendors:
