Get to Know a Wedding Photographer: Innerlight Photo Co. (8)

Today’s lovely interview is with Kelagn, owner and photographer at Innerlight Photo Co.!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company

I met Graham when he lead me to believe he was an avid photographer. We went on a date (I was under the impression we were going to be shooting a cool warehouse location). However, upon arrival, I realized he’d never picked up a DSLR in his life. Flash forward four years and he’s the creative brain behind our operation, far exceeding any photography skills I could ever have imagined he’d gain.

Innerlight is all about the people. We love people and their struggles, successes and the small victories in between. The greatest compliment we can receive is that we capture the “essence of one’s soul.”

Today we have an interview with Robert of Robert Michael Films, based in Santa Barbara, California! Take it away:

Tell us about your company, how did you get started?

I started filming weddings in 2002. Prior to starting my own business I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. My focus was Art History, Graphic Design, and Editing.

This really helped with having a strong foundation with the creative disciplines. I still study the masters of cinema and incorporate those lessons into the world of wedding filmmaking.

Vintage Formal Gold Glitter & Blush Invitation by Brown Fox Creative (6)

I love the use of subtle glitter on a classic invitation! Today we’re featuring an invitation suite designed by Brown Fox Creative, based in Fort Worth, Texas. A bit about the invitation:

Brittany and Tripp really wanted an invitation that was a reflection of their destination wedding in Virginia. The Homestead Resort is formal elegance at it’s best, so we pI lulled those formal, gorgeous vintage elements into the invitation itself. Brittany loved the glitter, but Tripp didn’t want to overdo it, so they settled on a glitter belly band and glitter backing for the rehearsal dinner invitation — which would only be going to a select few guests.

Big thanks to Tre Bella for sharing this infographic with us! From Kim:

Changing your name after marriage can be very overwhelming. With so many steps to follow and so many accounts and institutions to update, it can feel like a never-ending project. I’ve heard of many brides waiting a year or more before getting it done!
Well, recently we made this process a whole lot easier. When my team and I were creating a local guide for how to get married in Arizona, we decided to put together a handy little name change checklist of all the places we could think of where you might need to update your name. Hopefully, this will cut your research and brain-scratching time down by a lot so you can get it done and get on with your married life.

Kim is the founder of Tre Bella, an Arizona wedding venue that delivers platinum-style weddings affordably. With a true love for design and a stress-free coordination process, Kim keeps gorgeous urban weddings within reach for busy couples.

The Most Romantic Ways to Propose in New York (7)

How important is a wedding ring? Depends on your beliefs and your wallet. Beliefs vary from one couple to another.

Some couples feel it shows one’s commitment to each other. They believe the ring represents the beginning of their lives together and a commitment to one another. The ring symbolizes two hearts beating as one. A statement that expresses not only love, but also a daily reminder that every decision affects one another. A ring is a form of silent communication that says how important each other are. A reminder of both happy and sad times.

Some couples feel there is no need or reason to wear a ring. They find rings are more of a nuisance and an expense that hinders a marriage during the early years. Others feel it is a sign of ownership more than commitment. What is in their heart is all that that matters, and a ring does not show those feelings.

How much should couples spend on wedding rings? Be careful. Many couples begin a marriage in debt due to ring price. There was once a diamond company that suggested a ring should cost two months salary to get more people to invest more money into diamond rings. When buying your partner a wedding ring, spend only what you can afford. Remember, the true meaning of what the ring stands for, your undying love, devotion and commitment to one another.

Which now leads me to a company that understands the importance of a wedding ring, and looks to please and satisfy your fashion and budget. Today we’re excited to bring you this lovely invitation inspiration, brought to us by Brown Fox Creative! A bit about the invitation:

Whitney wanted an invitation suite that would showcase her wedding colors — pastel pink and purple, as well as incorporate her love of florals. She loved the wreath with their initials at top and lush florals in her envelope liner.
