Maria from Maria Villano Photography sent over this gorgeous real wedding, set in the mountains of California (near where I grew up too!) A vegan wedding can be quite the struggle and it’s great hearing how this couple made it work. Amanda and Devin had this to say about their wedding:
It was important to both my husband and I that our veganism was reflected on our wedding day. In doing so, we found that our biggest struggle in the planning process was finding a venue that would let us bring our own caterer, rather than choose from their preferred list. We wanted a caterer or restaurant that was adept at creating delectable plant-based food for omnivores as well vegans. The Stanford Inn met all of our wishes of what we wanted our wedding day to represent: intimate, low key, eco-conscious, vegan friendly, and magical.
See what else the couple had to say and the rest of the beautiful photos after the cut!
We wanted to allow the natural beauty of Mendocino to stand out so we consciously kept decorations to a minimum and instead used the gorgeous gardens at the Stanford Inn as our backdrop. Our floral arrangements were a total surprise but also exactly what we envisioned. We only exchanged two emails with our florist, but she completely captured the essence of what we wanted.
The Raven’s Restaurant provided the food for cocktail hour and dinner and we were so pleased to offer our guests exquisite food that was in line with our beliefs and ethics. Even our wine selections were vegan and chosen from small Mendocino wineries.
Ultimately, it was a perfect day to join our lives: there were burros; we had the greatest sunset ever; we were surrounded by immense love from our family and closest friends; and it was all captured by our incredibly gifted photographer.
