Today’s romantic rustic real wedding by Agnes Malorny Photography based in Chicago, IL has so many heartfelt details. Here’s a short story from Brittany, the lovely bride:
The inspiration behind our wedding was something we had both agreed on from the very moment we started planning. We wanted our wedding to be classic, romantic, and rustic, and for our day to really show who we are and where we have come from.
More story + heartfelt details after the cut!
My flower girl dresses were handmade and designed by a good friend of ours. She also added pieces of my mother’s wedding gown to the back of my dress.
My veil was made to replicate my great great grandmother who I am named after. My wedding gown was bought through Brides Against Breast Cancer… it all turned out to be very emotional as my grandma was diagnosed a month before our wedding.
My maid of honor designed the menus as well as the programs.
I also had a groom’s cake custom made to replicate a firefighter’s helmet on top of a fire-hose to add a little touch of my groom’s love for his profession.
We chose to display our rustic touches through burlap table runners, lantern centerpieces and votive candles. Our table numbers were handmade by my friend and I from wood and burlap.
We had a friend make a banner that said where we come from and displayed photos of our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. Instead of doing favors, we gave a donation to feed starving children in memory of my good friend Meghan that lost her battle to cancer.
Congratulations Brittany and Gregory, and thank you Agnes for sharing!
