Reader Laura sent her lovely wedding photos over, fill of small details and DIY touches (all of which were detailed in her blog here). Beautiful! She says,

My husband, Tim, and I were married on October 27th, 2012 at a quaint little country B&B – the Inn at Millrace Pond, in Hope, New Jersey. Our wedding was full of DIY projects, including the 150 caramel apple favors I made with my bridesmaids the day before the wedding!  Everything we DIY-ed was complimented by the beautiful work of our florist. I designed my own invitations, programs, and other day-of paper, and incorporated a wide range of vibrant & cheerful autumn colors – mainly because I simply couldn’t choose just a few. We also included our beloved Australian Terrier, Emma, in our outdoor ceremony.

Enjoy the beautiful inspiration after the cut…

My husband and I knew the minute we stepped onto the grounds of the Inn at Millrace Pond that it was where we wanted to be married. It was exactly what we had envisioned- a rustic and intimate setting where we could hold our outdoor ceremony and tented reception in one place, complete with a tavern and fire pit on site for late night S’mores making and celebrating!

I DIY’ed tons of elements for our big day, including designing the invitations, programs, menus and other day of paper products. Together with my bridesmaids and family, we made 150 caramel apples as favors, and I crafted our table numbers, escort cards, and “Yay!” flags for our guests to wave at the conclusion of the ceremony.

We hung a picture frame from two potted birch poles to create a do-it-yourself photo booth for our guests, which was a fun and interactive part of the night.

The ceremony itself was the most special moment for both of us. I was so overwhelmed with how beautiful the ceremony site was, thanks to our amazing florist Peggy. The aisle was lined with flower-filled mason jars on shepherd’s hooks, and the bridge over which I made my entrance was decorated in lights, flowers and bittersweet. It was a perfect fall day, and some of of dearest friends and family members performed our ceremony music and readings. My husband picked three readings from literature that were absolutely perfect, and were one of the only surprises for me since I had planned everything to the last detail. It was a very special moment.

The entire night was magical – especially when the sun went down and the lights went on inside the tent (it looked like starlight!) and along the grounds. Our wedding band was out of this world, keeping everybody on the dance floor. It was an amazing time – I only wished it could have lasted longer, as the whole day just seemed to fly by! It will always be a wonderful memory for us as we embark on our marriage together.

Such a lovely ceremony, congratulations Laura! Make sure to check out her blog for all of her DIY details.
