Today’s beautiful real wedding comes to us directly from the bride herself. Here’s what Libbie has to say about the big day:
Hi Ya’ll! My name is Libbie Small. Our Wedding was April 27, 2013. Our Wedding Ceremony took place at our church in Appomattox, VA where we both grew up and learned to serve the Lord. Our church is old and beautiful, with lots of stained glass so I didn’t want lots of color. I wanted it to be classy, whimsical, and timeless.
See more after the cut!
The only color I wanted were the bridesmaids dresses which were coral, and flowers. My bouquet was all white with garden roses, tulips, lilly of the valley. My “something old” was lace from my Aunt’s dress that hung from my bouquet. THE dress was organza with lace embellishments, covered and crystal buttons, and a rhinestone belt. The girls had bouquets of peonies, roses, renoncules, and lilly of the valley with ribbons hanging from them.
My groom wore a grey suit and black and white polka dot tie. The groomsmen wore grey suits with coral ties. For the ceremony, my Uncle did the “lesson” and my Brother-in-law did our vows. We had quite a large bridal party… 19, we would have had 20 but one of my ring bearers got sick. After we were announced Man and Wife we left the church in an antique Rolls Royce. Our reception took place at West Manor Estate in Forest, VA. It was beautiful!! Our guests enjoyed hors dourves in the garden at the back of the Manor. We had colorful pennants and lace table cloths.
Flowers were extremely important to me, I wanted our guests to walk in the ballroom and see color! Peonies were a must have.. I wanted it to look like an English garden. Our food was amazing, best I’ve ever had at a Reception. We had a non-traditional guest book, or should I say quilt. Each guest got mini pie in a little blue box tied with white ribbon for their thank you. When it was time to leave I slipped into my white Lilly dress, my new husband met me at the door and we left in a tunnel of sparklers. It was the most amazing day of my life :-)
Congratulations Libbie and Scott; thank you for sharing your lovely wedding with us!
