This sparkly Christmas themed winter wedding comes to us from Kelly of Faith Photography, based in Knoxville, TN! Here’s Kelly to tell us more:
Melanie grew up in the church that Michael currently attends. Six years ago she returned to that church and met Michael in some youth groups. They became friends and after about three years, they began to date.
See more after the cut!
Michael proposed on Valentine’s Day. Melanie thought he was going to ask her quietly at the lake as he told her that they were having photos made. She was wrong…Michael had been planning with the Pastor for some time. At the end of Sunday morning church service, with Michael pacing the floors in the back of the church, the pastor called Melanie up to the stage.
The pastor had done this before with Melanie’s students to recite a verse or sing a song, so Melanie wasn’t terribly surprised. But then the pastor had each of her students give her a hug for Valentine’s Day as he motioned Michael to join them. Michael came through the double doors with a rose in his hand. In front of 500 proper, Michael poured out his heart to Melanie, got on one knee, gave her a ring and asked for her hand in marriage.
Michael has a great sense of humor, even pulling out a Magic 8 Ball during the ceremony to ask whether he should go through with the wedding. He surprised Melanie with a beautiful band during the ring exchange.
Melanie wanted a softly lit ceremony with pops of red for Christmas. Her flowers were infused with reds and frosted pine cones. Their reception was softly lit with candles and tables arranged in a snowflake pattern. Melanie loves Christmas and always knew when she got married, it would be at Christmas time. Even her hair pins had snowflakes on them.
Congratulations Melanie & Michael and thank you Kelly for sharing! For more information about Faith Photography, please visit their WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile.
