This gorgeous red and white winter vow renewal comes to us from Marianne Blackham Photography, based in Washington, DC! Here’s Marianne to tell us more:

Set in the middle of snow-covered D.C., this January vow renewal put a vintage twist on the modern architecture of the American Institute of Architects. The setting and décor were perfect for the couple that wanted a classic event with a little bit of edge. The ceremony took place outside with snow still covering the city. Bride Hayley had a classic, sparkling, white ball gown, topped off with a fancy, vintage up-do by Liz Miiller Beauty, a dainty garter from The Garter Girl, and a luxurious wedding cape to keep warm. Hayley and Luke endured the cold for a romantic ceremony, officiated by Larissa Parks and with music from the Dapper DJs, before heading inside the institute for an even more romantic reception.

The open-layout foyer hosted the dreamy reds and grays of the reception, while the wall of windows gave view to a stunning sunset. As the night continued into a dinner by Simon Cuisine, tables were lit by candlelight that cast an intimate glow on the gold accents in the décor. Bee Inspired Events created floral designs showcasing deep red roses and black calla lilies that couldn’t have been more perfect for the classic but modern tablescape.

The flowers and greenery also adorned the naked cake, by Sorby Sweets, topped with tasty winter berries. Even the stationery from The Stationery Barn, kept with the theme, written in elaborate fonts and covered in shades of deep reds and dark grays. The happy couple enjoyed their evening from an intimate sweetheart table, while being photographed by Marianne Blackham and recorded by Capital Films.

In a statement made by the bride about the evening she mentioned, “The whole event was beautifully decorated – so elegant and romantic. It was even more than we had hoped for, and truly reminded us why we got married in the first place.”

Congratulations Hayley &  Luke and thank you, Marianne, for sharing! For more information about Marianne Blackham Photography, please visit her WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile.
