This sweet, rustic wedding comes to us from Jesi Peterson Photography, based in West Jordan, UT! Here’s Jesi to tell us more:

Taylor and Colton met in high school but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that they finally started dating and them Colton asked Taylor to marry him on 3/14/16 on a ski lift at the Sundance Resort! Taylor and Colton planned their wedding over and over again after dealing with some very stressful setbacks. Taylor and Colton have two of the cutest kids you will ever see! Knox is a fiery toddler with amazing red hair to match and Bostyn is the happiest little girl I’ve ever met!

See more after the cut!

As I was shooting her details I heard her talking with her bridesmaids about Colton’s father who had passed away about 9 years ago. Mike was the fire chief at the Saratoga Springs Fire Department and she had placed his fire jacket, his helmet, and a portrait of him at the front of the aisle.

When Colton arrived I got him in place for their first look. I asked him “Are you ready for this?” he said, “More than you know!” When we had him in place and brought Taylor out she asked me “Do I look okay?” I said, “You look BEAUTIFUL!!” As Colton turned around and saw his beautiful bride for the first time in her AMAZING dress he started crying and she immediately pulled him into her arms and I heard him whisper “I love you”.

As we went to take pictures of them at the ceremony site, Colton saw his dad’s jacket and helmet and immediately stopped to take a deep breath. I turned to look at him and Taylor he had tears silently falling down his face. I don’t think I can describe the moment that he walked down the aisle and put his hand on that chair. It was beautifully heartbreaking. He immediately moved to Taylor and she wrapped him in her arms. As they sat and cried together it was as if time stood still…no one moved, no one breathed, we were all waiting…frozen, giving them their time together. And…now I have to stop telling you about this because I am welling up in tears now! We know you would be here today if heaven were not so far away.

The day moved by in a flash but it felt like time slowed as we moved into the ceremony. As Taylor started down the aisle tears again came to Colton’s eyes at his beautiful bride who would soon be his wife! After the I Do’s, the rings, and the announcement of husband and wife Colton kissed Taylor with a kiss that almost knocked the two of them down! He was so excited to finally be her husband! After that, we had the most amazing party! Complete with dancing, a photo booth, cupcakes, and a smashing of the cake in each other’s faces!

Congratulations Taylor & Colton and thank you, Jesi, for sharing! For more information about Jesi Peterson Photography, please visit her WeddingLovely Vendor Guide profile.
