So you decided to take the plunge and plan the destination wedding you argued back in forth about with friends and family. You picture your feet immersed in the warm sand or the wind blowing high in the mountains. No matter which location is chosen the distance and accessibility of the destination can affect the timing of your invitations and save the dates. With a destination wedding it is not inappropriate to send out the save the dates a year in advance. It is best to send them out as soon as you have confirmed the details. Typically nine-twelve months is ample time for your guests to prepare for traveling. As for the formal invitation they are usually sent out six-eight weeks before the wedding but with a destination you should be sending them two-three months in advance.
